Defensive Player of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week
Anthony Williams | Randolph-Macon | Jr. | Cornerback
Williams, a junior from Purcellville, Va., led a strong Yellow Jackets defensive unit in Randolph-Macon's 48-35 win at Hampden-Sydney to clinch the 2018 ODAC title and a spot in the NCAA Tournament. Williams made five stops on the day including one for loss and broke up a pass, but his biggest contributions came in the turnover game. He was responsible for all three takeaways by the R-MC defense as the unit allowed just 14 points thru the first three quarters. Williams first takeaway was a fumble recovery on the first play from scrimmage following a long completion to H-SC receiver Major Morgan. De'Angelo Barr jarred the ball free with Williams picking it up at the R-MC 8-yard line. While that turnover didn't result in R-MC points, the two did. Williams intercepted H-SC quarterback Alec Cobb at the Tigers' 40-yard line late in the first quarter, which the Yellow Jackets turned into the game's first points early in the second frame. Williams second interception helped put the game away as he came down with his third takeaway with 15-seconds left in the third quarter at the H-SC 35-yard line. Just two plays later, R-MC tacked on their final touchdown of the game for a 48-14 lead. For the season, Williams is tied for second in the ODAC with five interceptions. He's racked up 39 tackles including 31 solo stops.
Hunter Taylor | Emory & Henry | So. | Quarterback
Taylor, a sophomore from Summerville, S.C., returned from injury to pick up his second weekly award of the season if the Wasps 70-27 triumph over Guilford in the season finale. Taylor accounted for eight touchdowns in the win as he threw for six scores for the second time this season, tying a school record. He also ran in a pair of scores, making him responsible (or partially so) for 48 points. Taylor finished 17-of-28 for 359 yards with six TDs against one interception for a 232.0 efficiency rating. He completed passes to just four receivers on the day, with each catching at least one touchdown pass. Jesse Santiago hauled in three TDs as part of an 8-catch 171-yard day. Gunner Griffith, Bradley Puccio, and Derrick Yates also caught scoring throws. Taylor also carried the ball 10 times for 57 yards with scoring runs of 11 and 1 yard. Taylor completes the season as the ODAC's leader in passing efficiency at a 152.6 rating. He completed 58.9-percent of his passes for 1,942 yards with 21 touchdowns against eight interceptions. He added 405 yards and seven touchdowns  on 97 rushes, good for a 4.2 per-carry average.

NEXT WEEK | vs. N.C. Wesleyan (5-4, 4-3 USA South) | 1:00 PM
Bridgewater and N.C. Wesleyan will take the opportunity to extend their regular seasons and make up their matchup previously lost due to the hurricane in September. This will be the very first meeting between the two squads, which was originally slated for September 15. The teams are going in opposite directions as the season closes. Bridgewater has won each of its past three outings, while N.C. Wesleyan has lost two straight to Huntingdon (50-29) and Maryville (31-14).

FERRUM ran up against a hot Bridgewater squad and fell to the Eagles, 42-21. The Panthers rushing attack was held in check with just 41 total yards at a 1.3 per rush average. Some of that was hurt by five sacks by Bridgewater which cost FC 36 rushing yards. Brian Mann still had a productive day as he finished with 68 yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. Mann finishes the season as the ODAC's leading rusher with 1,582 yards, the fifth-most in ODAC single-season history. In the passing game, Zack Clifford thru for 109 yards while Titus Jones added 71 more and a touchdown. Nick Pearce caught the TD throw and finished with 86 yards on two grabs. Defensively, Niccolas Helvy led with 13 tackles including two for a loss with a sack. Rod Smith intercepted two passes. Johnathon Johnson and AJ Camp added a sack each. Raekwon Giggetts registered 10 tackles.

NEXT WEEK | at Averett (7-2, 6-1 USA South) | 2:00 PM
Ferrum and Averett will take the opportunity to extend their regular seasons and make up their matchup previously lost due to the hurricane in September. This will be the 19th meeting between the two squads, which was originally slated for September 15. Ferrum leads the all-time series, 13-5, dating back to 2000. The Cougars, however, picked up a win in their last meeting, 19-7, in 2017. Both teams will be looking to finish their 2018 campaigns on winning notes. Averett has won each of their past two outings with wins over Brevard (25-6) and at Methodist (22-13). Ferrum had won two straight over Hampden-Sydney (32-19) and at Randolph-Macon (28-23) before falling this past weekend to Bridgewater (42-21).

HAMPDEN-SYDNEY ended its regular season, falling 48-35 to arch-rival Randolph-Macon in the 123rd playing of “The Game.” The Tigers, who end their season at 4-5 overall and 4-3 in the ODAC, still lead the all-time series 60-52-11. Both teams put up good offensive yardage with the Yellow Jackets amassing 464 to the Tigers’ 411, but Randolph-Macon dominated the time of possession, having the ball for nearly 44 minutes to the Tigers’ 16. Additionally, the Tigers were hampered by three turnovers to Randolph-Macon’s one. Of the Tigers’ 411 yards of offense, 365 came through the air and 46 on the ground. Senior quarterback Alec Cobb was 23-of-37 for 365 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions. Major Morgan caught three of those touchdowns, hauling in nine passes for 220 yards. Kaleb Smith had seven catches for 24 yards while adding 14 rushing yards on five carries. Cobb ran for a team-high 30 yards and a touchdown on two carries. SHENANDOAH saw its season come to a close with a 27-24 overtime victory at Washington and Lee. Rashadeen Byrd, Jr., provided the winning points as his touchdown on SU's first overtime possession trumped the 22-yard field goal punched thru by W&L's Jarrett Wright. Byrd finished with 81 yards to lead SU's ground game. Quarterback Hayden Bauserman had his most uneven day of the season in going 40-of-59 for 335 yards and three touchdowns with three interceptions. He finishes as the ODAC leader in passing yards (3,832), touchdowns (43), completions (355), and attempts (555). All four numbers are single-season ODAC records. He'll graduate as the ODAC career record-holder in touchdown passes (132) and second all-time in career passing yards (12,475), completions (1,093), and attempts (1,768). EMORY & HENRY closed its season with a 70-27 triumph over Guilford. The 70 points are the most scored by E&H in its Division III era and third-most behind 89 markers against Carson Newman in 1916 and 83 points agisnt Bridgewater in 1927. The 43-point margin of victory is the largest since E&H defeated Ferrum, 55-7, in 2015. Quarterback Hunter Taylor tied an E&H record for touchdowns in a game with six passing TDs, which he also matched earlier this year against Shenandoah. He also ran for two touchdowns and 57 yards to account for 48 points and eight touchdowns overall. Kicker Matt Seals became the all-time leader in extra points (114) in E&H history, topping Jack Ginn's record of 109. He made 10 PATs against GC to set a new E&H record for extra points in a single-game. That number is #2 all-time in the ODAC. Sam Wagner (77 yards) and Dydrion Leach (75 yards) each ran in a touchdown. Jesse Santiago was Taylor's favorite receiver with eight grabs for 171 yards and three touchdowns. Gunner Griffith, Bradley Puccio, and Derrick Yates each caught a TD pass. Defensively, Justin Banks posted an ODAC single-game high 20 tackles (10 solo) with one TFL, a fumble recovery, and two pass breakups. He ran for 214 yards and three touchdowns on a career-high 36 carries while adding 31 yards on four catches and 125 yards on five kickoff returns. He is Guilford's single-season leader in 100-yard rushing games (7) and rushing yardfs (1,334). He moved into fifth place on the NCAA Division III career all-purpose yardage list with 8,396 yards. Bell is also the ODAC and GC record holder in career kickoff return yards with 2,342 yards. Against E&H, quarterback Alex Manley kept his streak alive of throwing a TD pass in every game as he tossed a five-yard pass to Evan Carnes. Defensively, Bryce Smtih led with 12 tackles including 1.5 for a loss and a pass breakup. He entered the game ranked #1 in the nation in solo stops and added 10 more against E&H. Gerard Seals intercepted a pass, while Darrious Patterson registered 1.5 tackles for a loss.

RANDOLPH-MACON tied an ODAC record with its 11th ODAC football championship as the Yellow Jackets locked up the league crown with a 48-35 victory at Hampden-Sydney in the 123rd playing of "The Game." R-MC poured on the points early with leads of 27-0 and 48-14 before Hampden-Sydney found a foothold late. The Yellow Jackets controlled time of possession to the tune of 43:56 to 16:04 of clock time.
