Mitchell, a senior from Virginia Beach, Va., picks up his second
weekly award of the season after helping the Hornets to their
first-ever ODAC win on Saturday. Mitchell posted an ODAC-high
13 tackles, including 11 solo stops. He also made 3.5 stops
in the Bridgewater backfield, 2.5 of which were quarterback sacks.
One of his sacks forced an Eagles' fumble, which led to the
second of two Andrew Smith first-half touchdown runs.
Mitchell struck again in the fourth quarter after BC had
already put up 13 points in a comeback bid. Mitchell forced
and recovered a fumble with 4:15 to play, helping SU secure the
win. Mitchell is currently tied for first in the ODAC with 38
tackles, and his three forced fumbles top the league charts.
