LaMaya Lacy, Lynchburg, Sr., Hurdles/Jumps

Lacy, a senior from Bremo Bluff, Va., was spectacular in three events competed at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Lacy highlighted her day by setting new ODAC and Lynchburg records in the 100-meter hurdles by winning the event in 14.59 seconds. That snapped the conference record of 14.70 seconds set by Roanoke's Sarah Witt in 2009. Lacy's time currently ranks 10th in NCAA Division III. She also joined teammates Vuronika Barnes, Destaunia Perry, and Aniya Seward in setting a new Hornets record in the 4x100-meter relay in 48.80 seconds. In addition to winning the event, that time tops the ODAC ranks and sits 22nd nationally. Lacy also competed in the triple jump, placing fourth overall at 10.94 meters (35-10.75). That would be a top-five ODAC mark if she had not already posted an 11.32-meter (37-1.75) leap earlier this season.
