2019 Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

  • Alicia Sandoval, Lynchburg, Sr., Attack
    April 29, 2019
    Sandoval, a senior from Montclair, Va., put together a pair of nine-point games to lead Lynchburg to a pair of wins to close the regular season. She has now registered a hat trick or better in each of the past four games. Sandoval scored four times and dished out five assists in the Hornets 19-6 win over Virginia Wesleyan. She added a ground ball to her line. Sandoval capped the regular season with five goals and four assists in a 20-5 triumph at Guilford. She chipped in two ground balls, a draw control, and four caused turnovers.
  • Haley Tucker, Washington and Lee, Sr., Midfielder
    April 22, 2019
    Tucker, a senior from Manakin-Sabot, Va., was a force on both sides of the field as nationally top-ranked Washington and Lee returned to action with a pair of league games following its exam week. Tucker opened with six points on five goals and an assist in a 22-3 win over Bridgewater. She added eight draw controls, a ground ball, and a caused turnover to her line. Over the weekend, Tucker added four goals and an assist to a career-high 13 draw controls in a 25-2 win over Virginia Wesleyan. She tacked on two ground balls and five draw controls. For the season, Tucker leads the ODAC in goals (51) and draw controls (82), while ranking second in points (67). Here 82 draw controls are fourth-best in W&L history.
  • Alyson Bittinger, Shenandoah, So., Midfielder

    Bittinger, a sophomore from Westminster, Md., picks up her second weekly award after leading Shenandoah to a pair of conference wins to keep the Hornets unbeaten at 6-0 in conference games. Bittinger opened with three goals to go along with a career-high 10 draw controls, three ground balls, and a trio of caused turnovers in a 16-5 road victory at Bridgewater. She followed with four goals in a 19-6 win at Ferrum. She added eight draw controls, two ground balls, and a caused turnover. For the season, Bittinger leads the ODAC in goals scored (46) and is third in points (52). She is also #1 in draw controls (75), shots (92), shots on goal (71) and free position goals (14-of-32).
  • Kelsi Trevisan, Lynchburg, Jr., Attack
    April 08, 2019
    Trevisan, a junior from West Chester, Pa., continued her stellar campaign by helping the Hornets to a pair of key wins as the close to the season draws near. Trevisan, who has registered at least one point in every game played this season, opened with three goals in an 11-10 come-from-behind victory versus Roanoke. Each of her tallies came in a 6-2 Lynchburg run to close the game and recover from an 8-5 second-half deficit. Trevisan increased her streak of scoring at least a hat trick to four straight games as she beat the keeper four times and dished out three assists in a 21-4 victory over Ferrum. She added a ground ball and two caused turnovers to her line. For the season, Trevisan is fifth in the ODAC in points (41) and seventh in goals scored (31).
  • Tori Manahan, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Midfielder
    April 01, 2019
    Manahan, a junior from Westminster, Md., put together a strong week in helping the Marlins to a pair of ODAC wins, their first two of the season in three league contests. Manahan opened her week with four points on two goals and two assists in a 10-9 overtime victory at Bridgewater. One of her assists came on the game-tying goal just before halftime. She was 1-of-2 in free position attempts and added a draw control and a ground ball. Manahan made further contributions on both sides of the field in a 15-5 win over Guilford. She registered four goals for the third time this season to go with an assist. She bookended the first half with the opening goal and another 17-seconds before the break and tacked on two more in the second frame. She added three caused turnovers defensively and chipped in a ground ball. For the season, Manahan has racked up 31 points on an ODAC seventh-best 25 goals and six assists. She is second in the ODAC with nine free position goals.
  • Haley Tucker, Washington and Lee, Sr., Midfielder
    March 25, 2019
    Tucker, a senior from Manakin-Sabot, Va., made the most of Washington and Lee's lone contest as she helped the nationally second-ranked Generals improve to 4-2 against teams ranked in the IWLCA coaches poll with a 13-12 victory over then #7 York College (Pa.). Tucker posted a career-high 10 points powered by a career-best seven goals including W&L's final two tallies to provide the eventual difference in the contest. She added three assists along with five draw controls and a pair of ground balls. Tucker, who missed last season due to injury, is tied for second in the ODAC in points (37) and sits third in goals scored (26).
  • Dani Murray, Washington and Lee, Jr., Attack
    March 18, 2019
    Murray, a junior from Denver, Colo., put together a 10-point week as nationally third-ranked Washington and Lee earned wins over Dickson and #25 St. Mary's (Md.). Murray opened with four goals and one assist with a draw control and a ground ball in a 19-11 decision over Dickinson. She was 3-of-4 on free position shots. Murray then went for 5 goals in a 14-13 result over St. Mary's. She added two ground balls to her stat line. She needed just 12 shots on goal to score nine goals on the week. For the season, Murray has racked up 19 points on 16 goals and three assists.
  • Alyson Bittinger, Shenandoah, So., Midfielder
    March 11, 2019
    Bittinger, a sophomore from Westminster, Md., registered a 12-point week in leading Shenandoah to a pair of victories to move to 4-2 on the season. The reigning ODAC Rookie of the Year was extremely efficient on the week, scoring nine goals on 12 total shots (11 on goal). She opened with six goals and two assists in an 18-11 victory over Widener. She added seven draw controls, two ground balls, and a caused turnover to her line. She then scored three times on three total shots in a 20-12 road win at Marywood. She chipped in an assist to go with six more draw controls and a ground ball. For the season, Bittinger is tied for fourth in the ODAC with 21 points and ranks second with 18 goals scored.
  • Katherine Faria, Washington and Lee, Fy., Attack
    March 04, 2019
    Faria, a first-year from Cold Spring Harbor, N.Y., helped lead then nationally eighth-ranked Washington and Lee to an upset victory in a clash of nationally top-10 rated squads. Faria scored once in the first half and then tallied a pair of second-half goals, including the first of a three-goal spurt to send the game to overtime. Faria tallied the game-winning goal with 1:22 on the overtime clock for a 14-13 victory over then fourth-ranked Salisbury. Washington and Lee has moved up to third in this week's IWLCA coaches poll. For the season, Faria leads the ODAC with 14 goals and is second with 18 points.

    Tucker, a senior from Manakin-Sabot, Va., helped catapult Washington and Lee from 13th to eighth in the latest IWLCA coaches with two non-conference wins over strong competition. Tucker scored three times and dished out two assists in the Generals 19-6 road victory at Christopher Newport. She collected seven draw controls to go with two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers. Tucker scored three more times including Washington and Lee's final two tallies to provide the difference in a 10-9 upset win over then nationally seventh-ranked Franklin & Marshall College. She added one assist in addition to six draw controls, four ground balls, and three caused turnovers. Tucker is now nine draw controls short of tying the W&L all-time career record. Tucker is currently second in the ODAC in goals scored (8) and third in points (11) and assists (3).
  • Jenn Schwechheimer, Roanoke, Sr., Attack
    February 18, 2019
    Schwechheimer, a senior from Wakefield, R.I., opened the season for Roanoke with nine points in an 18-9 victory over Centre. Schwechheimer scored four goals and dished out five assists. She added a ground ball and a caused turnover to her line. She scored her four goals on four total shots for a 1.000 shooting percentage.
