2019 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

  • Gabby Nelson, Randolph-Macon, Sr., Forward

    Nelson, a senior from Clover, Va., picks up her second weekly award of the season after leading the nationally 15th-ranked and undefeated Yellow Jackets to a pair of league wins to lock up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Tournament. Nelson opened her week with the first goal in a 5-0 victory over Eastern Mennonite. Then came her third game of three or more goals as she registered all three of Randolph-Macon's goals in its regular season-capping 3-0 victory at Ferrum. For the season, Nelson leads the ODAC in points (56) and goals scored (25) and is tied for fourth in assists (6). She is currently ranked third in NCAA Division III in points and goals scored and second in game-winning goals.
  • Mia Meinhardt, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Forward

    Meinhardt, a junior from Midlothian, Va., put together a six-point week at the right time to help Virginia Wesleyan rack up a pair of ODAC road wins and maintain position in a logjam in the middle of the ODAC table. Meinhardt opened her week with a goal in a 2-1 victory in double-overtime at Shenandoah. She deposited home an unassisted effort in the 71st minute for a 1-0 Marlins lead. Meinhardt doubled her output in game two on the weekend, scoring twice in a 3-1 triumph at Ferrum. She again got the scoreboard moving with an eighth-minute goal of an assist from Camryn Terry. She made it 3-0 Marlins when she finished off a pass from Reina Araujo in the 48th minute. For the season, Meinhardt has registered 11 points on five goals and one assist.
