    January 19, 2021
Myra Sims, Hollins Director of Athletics, recently announced that Robert Sullivan Jr., current cross-country and track & field coach, has been promoted from part-time to full-time, starting Feb. 1. He will also be teaching two physical education classes.
  • ODAC Chat | Brandon Spalding, Washington and Lee
    September 18, 2020
In this edition of ODAC Chat, the focus of discussion moved to the cross country side of the conference's track & field and cross country ranks. J.J. was joined by Brandon Spalding, the head coach for men's cross country at Washington and Lee University. He is also the chair of the ODAC men's and women's cross country coaches. Brandon peeled back the curtain on the success of Generals' men's and women's cross country -- the latter program led by Mike Dager -- as well as the growth of the sport over his years first as an All-ODAC runner at Bridgewater College and now in his eighth season holding the coaching reins at W&L.
  • ODAC Chat | Denver Davis, Bridgewater
    September 11, 2020
The ODAC checked in with Denver Davis on Friday to talk about all things track & field. Denver is in his 11th season overall at Bridgewater, having taken over as the Eagles' Director of Cross Country and Track & Field in November 2018. He gave us insight into the BC program, some of their outstanding athletes, the challenges of training and preparing for a season in our current climate, and the growth of the ODAC since his time as a student-athlete at Lynchburg.
  • ODAC Feature | Abigail Shelly, Eastern Mennonite
    August 28, 2020
Abigail Shelly is a recent graduate of Eastern Mennonite University. In addition to being a three-time top-35 runner at the ODAC Cross Country Championships, Shelly helped start the Royals triathlon program. In fact, she thrived in the emerging sport, finishing 13th in the national event! Biking was always going to be her most difficult part of triathlon -- it also includes running and swimming legs, of which she had experience -- but her triathlon efforts came in handy when she and fellow Royals Hannah Chappell-Dick, Michaela Mast, and Joanna Friesen biked the ENTIRE Blue Ridge Parkway over an eight-day period in July!
  • Biking Blue Ridges and Smoky Mountains: Royals Take on the Parkway
    August 27, 2020
On July 16, an Eastern Mennonite University coach and three alumni began biking uphill. For 20 miles. And that was just the first day of a 500-mile trip, traversing the Blue Ridge Parkway from its southern end in North Carolina to where it becomes Skyline Drive in Afton, Virginia.
