Randolph-Macon Hoists 10th ODAC Women's Basketball Trophy

SALEM, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College completed an end-to-end run to the 2020 ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament crown on Sunday afternoon in Salem, Va., as the fourth-seeded Yellow Jackets never trailed in topping seventh-seeded Guilford College, 68-50.

This marks the 10th time Randolph-Macon (18-9) has lifted the women's hoops trophy in the Salem Civic Center and the program's second in the last three years. Only Roanoke College has won more league hardware with 16 trophies on its mantle.

The victory also comes with the ODAC's automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Women's Basketball Tournament. The Yellow Jackets will be making their 12th appearance on the national stage. They own a 14-11 record in their previous 11 trips. The announcement of the 64-team field is set for 2:30 p.m. ET on Monday via webcast on www.ncaa.com.

ODAC Player of the Year and eventual tournament Most Outstanding Player, Kelly Williams, led all scorers with 22 points to go with 15 rebounds, four assists, and four blocked shots. Michal Ross and Becca Arrington added to R-MC's offense with 16 points apiece with Arrington draining four three-pointers. Ross along with Cheridan Hatfield joined Williams on the All-Tournament Team.

Guilford (17-10) was led by Lindsay Gauldin with 15 points along with six boards, four assists, and four steals. Miracle Walters capped her career with 12 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Calyn Davis added nine points, five boards, and three assists.

UPDATE: A few hours after the Randolph-Macon women's team collected the ODAC trophy, the Yellow Jackets men won the conference title. This marks the third time in five years that one school has swept the league's basketball championships joining the University of Lynchburg in 2016 and Guilford College in 2017.
