Washington and Lee Set to Meet Lynchburg for ODAC Men's Soccer Crown

LYNCHBURG, Va. --- The second-seeded Washington and Lee men's soccer team defeated third-seeded Roanoke 3-0, on Saturday afternoon in the ODAC Tournament semifinals on Shellenberger Field at Lynchburg College.

Sophomore midfielder Viktor Dolberg (Clovis, Calif. / Buchanan) scored the game-winning goal in the 25th minute off of an assist from his brother, first-year defender Oliver Dolberg (Clovis, Calif. / Buchanan). The Generals (15-3-1) took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Senior defender Patrick Barry (West Roxbury, Mass. / Roxbury Latin School) gave the Blue and White a second goal at 47:34 when he headed the ball into the back of the net off of a corner taken by sophomore midfielder Kevin Lencioni (Rochester Hills, Mich. / Rochester Adams).

The Generals scored an insurance goal in the 78th minute, after sophomore forward Tyler Runge (Manassas, Va. / Forest Park) beat Roanoke (9-5-5) junior keeper Nick Tadros.

W&L held a 15-11 advantage in shots and a 6-4 edge in corner kicks. Junior keeper Gillen Beck(Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg) made two saves for the Generals in the full 90 minutes of action. Tadros also played the full contest and made one stop. The Maroons also had one team save.

The Generals return to action tomorrow for the ODAC Championship game when they take on top-seeded Lynchburg at 1:00 pm at Lynchburg.
