Washington and Lee Tops Field in Search of 27th League Crown

FOREST, Va. --- Washington and Lee University finds itself in a familiar position following the spring women's tennis season as the Generals stand atop the eight-team field slated to compete in the ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament. W&L, which ran thru its ODAC schedule with a perfect 11-0 record, is ranked 13th in the country by the ITA, which is the same ranking the Generals enjoyed at the outset of the conference tournament last season.

Randolph-Macon College occupies the second seed for a second straight season, with its only loss in league play coming to the top-seeded Generals. The Yellow Jackets have the added responsibility of serving as the host venue for the men's and women's semifinals and finals, which are slated for May 6-7 in Ashland.

Before two sets of four teams head to the Richmond-area for the semifinals, the women's quarterfinals will take place at four campuses on Wednesday, May 3. Washington and Lee and Randolph-Macon will host two of those events, while third-seeded Randolph College and #4 Bridgewater College open their facilities to the remaining two quarterfinal contests.

Fifth-seeded Roanoke College will make the trip up I-81 to Bridgewater, while #6 Emory & Henry College travels to Randolph. Lynchburg College heads to R-MC as the seventh seed, while Hollins University makes the 40-mile jog up the interstate to W&L as the eighth seed.
