Roanoke Volleyball Defeats Emory & Henry, 3-0, In ODAC Action Thursday

SALEM, Va. – The Roanoke College Volleyball Team (2-1, 2-1 ODAC) picked up a 3-0 (25-19, 25-17, 25-20) win over visiting Emory & Henry College (0-1, 0-1 ODAC) in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play Thursday evening.

How It Happened
- The squads battled to a 5-5 tie in the opening set before Roanoke went on a run to build a 16-11 lead. The Wasps closed the gap to 19-17, but the Maroons finished the frame on a 6-2 run.
- E&H opened up a 5-0 lead and pushed its margin to 9-2 early in the second but RC stormed back to go ahead 14-10. Four straight points by Roanoke later in the frame gave them a 19-12 advantage which they used to cruise to the 25-17 win and a 2-0 lead in the match.
- The Wasps and Maroons battled through five ties and one lead change early in the fifth for a 7-7 score. Up 14-13, Roanoke scored three in a row to make it a 17-13 margin as they stayed just out of reach for the 25-20 third set win to seal the match.

Emory & Henry Individual Leaders
- Sophomore outside hitter Carley Williams (Bristol, Tenn.) posted a match-high 11 kills and added two blocks while junior right-side Ashley Clayton (Durham, N.C.) went for five kills, and four blocks.
- Junior outside hitter Delaini Nagy (Clover, S.C.) posted five kills, four digs and two blocks. As freshman libero Sarah Moore (Kingsport, Tenn.) notched 11 digs and one ace.
- Sophomore setter Marissa Snapp (Greeneville, Tenn.) dished out 15 assists, adding seven digs and two aces while sophomore setter Abbie Dillon (Goodview, Va.) had 11 assists  and four digs.

Roanoke Individual Leaders
- Linsey Bailey put up 10 kills and added eight digs while Angel Ross and Parker Moody had nine and eight kills, respectively.
- Olivia Newman went for 18 assists and six digs while Kennedy Clemmer led all players with 27 digs.

Up Next
- Emory & Henry will remain on the road on Sunday when it visits Randolph-Macon College. First serve is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
