    Virginia Wesleyan University and Washington and Lee University collected eight all-conference awards each in addition to combining for three special individual honors to headline the 2022 All-ODAC Women's Soccer Awards. Bridgewater College midfielder Hanna Randolph earned her second ODAC Player of the Year nod, while Marlins centerback Sam Crawford received newly minted ODAC Defensive Player of the Year laurels, her second straight season earning player of the year recognition. Generals mentor Tiffany Pins was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year by her peers, while VWU's forward Shyenne Diaz garnered ODAC Rookie of the Year distinction. Ferrum College midfielder Allison Setlak was recognized as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the conference's athletic communications personnel. There are a lot of new names on this year's all-conference lists with just 15-of-39 standouts repeating as All-ODAC honorees from a season ago. Nine of those 15 back-to-back award winners appear on this season's All-ODAC First Team.

    For the sixth-time in ODAC women's soccer history, three teams will represent the conference in the NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament field. ODAC champion University of Lynchburg, owners of the league's automatic berth to the NCAA postseason, will be joined by Virginia Wesleyan University and Washington and Lee University as at-large selections by the Division III Women's Soccer Championship Committee. Turn back the clock to 2018 for the last time the ODAC featured three teams on the national women's soccer stage. Lynchburg will be making its conference-record 21 appearance in an NCAA bracket. The 2014 national champions are 29-17-6 in their previous showings. Virginia Wesleyan is in the field for a 14th time, having posted an 8-12-4 mark in their 13 other appearances. Both the Hornets and Marlins played for the walnut & bronze in 2021, but Washington and Lee is in the field for the first time since 2016. The Generals are 5-5-2 in six previous tournament berths.

  • Defending Champs Virginia Wesleyan Picked Atop ODAC Women's Soccer Poll

    Parity has become the norm in ODAC women's soccer with four different schools lifting the last four conference trophies. References to the number four continue in the 2022 ODAC Women's Soccer Preseason Poll with four schools earning first place votes, including chart-topper Virginia Wesleyan University. The defending champion Marlins secured eight first place votes on the way to 161 points. Bridgewater College collected 150 tallies powered by three top nods. University of Lynchburg, last season's runner-up, sits just two points back at 148 markers with a pair of first place considerations. Washington and Lee University received the remaining top vote and slots fourth with 141 points. Randolph-Macon College (111), Roanoke College (110), and Shenandoah University (103) each cracked the 100-point barrier.

The NCAA put an end to the event's hiatus with the announcement of the 2021 Division III Field on Monday afternoon. Two teams will carry the ODAC's banner into the national bracket. Conference champion Virginia Wesleyan University is joined by the University of Lynchburg in the 64-team field.
