Emory & Henry Men’s Tennis Beats Lynchburg, 6-1, Wednesday Afternoon At Home

EMORY, Va. - The Emory & Henry College Men's Tennis Team (4-2) defeated University of Lynchburg (1-2) in non-conference action on Wednesday afternoon. The Wasps took down their former Old Dominion Athletic Conference foe by a 6-1 score.

How It Happened
- E&H won the doubles portion of the match to take an early 1-0 lead. Freshman Kartik Parhar (Ludhiana, INDIA) and sophomore Juan Alvarez (Metepec, MEXICO) combined for the dominant 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles while the team of sophomore Corey Garrity (Spartanburg, S.C.) and freshman Diego Alvarez (Bogota, COLOMBIA) also picked up a 6-1 victory in No. 2 doubles.
- Parhar won his match at No. 2 singles 6-2, 6-0 and Juan Alvarez was victorious at No. 3 singles 6-2, 6-4. Diego Alvarez topped his opponent at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-4 while fifth-year Brandon McGuire (Christiansburg, Va.) won his match at No. 5 singles 6-2, 6-1. Garrity ended things on a winning note for the Wasps with an 8-5 victory at No. 6 singles.
