Hampden-Sydney Wins ODAC Football Play of the Week Award

FOREST, Va. --- The final week of the ODAC Football Play of the Week contest came down to the wire, as did a few of the games on the season's final Saturday.  Hampden-Sydney College came away with the win, securing its fourth weekly win of the year.  Stay tuned to when all 11 weekly winners are pitted against each other in the ODAC Football Play of the Year contest!

After Randolph-Macon running back Will McGhee notched his second touchdown of the game, the score stood 28-26 in Hampden-Sydney's favor with 1:35 to play.  The Yellow Jackets got two shots at a two-point conversion thanks to a defensive penalty on the first try.  On the second attempt, linebacker Tyler Ikwild stood up McGhee before he could get to the goal line, thwarting the two-point attempt and effectively sealing the Tigers' win and accompanying ODAC title.

Hampden-Sydney earned 45.04-percent of the vote, narrowly edging out Guilford College (43.23%).  In total, the ODAC's five finalists were watched nearly 1,100 times on YouTube over the past two days.
