  • ODAC Announces 2020-21 All-ODAC Indoor Track & Field Awards

    While a formal ODAC indoor track & field season and conference championship meet was not hosted this past winter, there were still plenty of teams and athletes in action. The conference is proud to recognize those standout performers with the 2020-21 All-ODAC Indoor Track & Field Awards.

    The second day of ODAC honors for week six of the spring season features men's and women's soccer for the first time this season. Indoor track & field is also highlighted in this edition. Tuesday will be the new reporting day for each of these sports -- including when indoor track & field switches to outdoors -- for the remainder of the 2021 season.     The late surge of winter weather throughout the region has added to the chaos of schedules throughout the league, but ODAC athletes continue to appear unphased with some national-caliber showings and personal-best performances highlighting the past week's results. Those that competed showed they were not affected by the conditions as performances remained at a high level.     The first ODAC Athletes of the Week of the 2020-21 academic year come at a much different time than we're accustomed, but conference athletes prove it doesn't matter what time you start as long as you do. The opening events in indoor track & field and swimming featured some outstanding efforts.   • Hollins Promotes Sullivan Jr. to Full-Time Cross Country/Track Coach

    Myra Sims, Hollins Director of Athletics, recently announced that Robert Sullivan Jr., current cross-country and track & field coach, has been promoted from part-time to full-time, starting Feb. 1. He will also be teaching two physical education classes.

    The ODAC checked in with Denver Davis on Friday to talk about all things track & field. Denver is in his 11th season overall at Bridgewater, having taken over as the Eagles' Director of Cross Country and Track & Field in November 2018. He gave us insight into the BC program, some of their outstanding athletes, the challenges of training and preparing for a season in our current climate, and the growth of the ODAC since his time as a student-athlete at Lynchburg.
  • Biking Blue Ridges and Smoky Mountains: Royals Take on the Parkway
    August 27, 2020
    On July 16, an Eastern Mennonite University coach and three alumni began biking uphill. For 20 miles. And that was just the first day of a 500-mile trip, traversing the Blue Ridge Parkway from its southern end in North Carolina to where it becomes Skyline Drive in Afton, Virginia.
