  • Carolyn Todd, Washington and Lee, Sr., Mid-Distance
    February 22, 2023
    Todd, a senior from Cumberland Foreside, Maine, nearly added a Washington and Lee record to her track & field plaudits following her efforts at the JDL DMR Challenge hosted at JDL Fast Track in Winston-Salem, N.C. Todd finished sixth overall and first among Division III competitors in the Division I heavy field in the mile run at 5:02.55. That time ranks first in the ODAC and is the second-fastest in Generals program history behind the 5:00.91 posted by Elizabeth Webb in 2009. When converted to banked/oversized track parameters for Division III rankings, her time of 4:59.59 is slotted 33rd in the country.
  • Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, Jr., Hurdles/Jumps
    February 22, 2023
    Seward, a junior from Ebony, Va., picks up her second weekly honor of the season after resetting one of her own records as part of two events competed at the Virginia Tech Challenge over the weekend. Seward snapped her own Lynchburg record in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 2nd overall at 8.74 seconds. She bettered her already top time in the ODAC, which now ranks ninth in Division III. Her new time is just 0.05 seconds shy of the ODAC record set by former Bridgewater standout Emily Valle in 2019. Seward posted a collegiate-best mark in the long jump and won the event with a leap of 5.42 meters (17-9.50). That mark ranks third in the conference and 47th in the country and improved upon her own hold on fifth in Lynchburg program history.
  • Frank Csorba, Lynchburg, Sr., Mid-Distance
    February 22, 2023
    Csorba, a senior from Boydton, Va., posted a pair of top-five ODAC times with collegiate best performances in two mid-distance events at the Virginia Tech Challenge over the weekend. Csorba finished third in the mile with a time of 4:08.17 to rank 16th in Division III this season. When converted for flat/200m track for ODAC rankings, Csorba converted time of 4:11.35 is #1 in the conference, 0.48 seconds quicker than teammate Sam Llaneza. Csorba also competed in the 800-meter run, placing second overall at 1:56.92. His converted time of 1:58.60 ranks fourth in the ODAC.
  • Michael Smith, Bridgewater, So., Throws
    February 22, 2023
    Smith, a sophomore from Waynesboro, Va., went record-hunting at the JDL DMR Invitational in the Eagles final tune-up before the ODAC Championships. Smith set the Bridgewater program record in the weight throw with a second-place toss of 18.76 meters (61-6.75). He is #2 in the ODAC behind only the conference-record toss (19.27m) by Shenandoah's Tucker Kindig. Smith's mark is also eighth in Division III. Smith also competed in the shot put, moving into third on the ODAC 2022-23 list with a heave of 14.74m (47-5.75). He finished fourth in that event and now sits third all-time at Bridgewater in the event.
  • Hailey Smith, Lynchburg, Fy., Mid-Distance
    February 14, 2023
    Smith, a first-year from Lively, Va., went Lynchburg record-hunting in her two events at the Division I heavy David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University. Smith set a new Hornets record in the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:13.86. While that time was 102nd overall in the race, it was the fourth-best among Division III competitors and ranks 10th in the country this season. When converted for flat/200m track purposes for ODAC rankings, her converted time of 2:15.40 is #1 in the ODAC by more than six seconds. Smith joined teammates Lauren Massey, Madelyn Boyce, and Molly Silva in setting a new program record in the distance medley relay. Their time of 12:11.78 finished 30th overall and 12th among Division III competition and ranks 19th in the country. Their converted time of 12:19.61 is #1 in the ODAC more than 55 seconds.
  • Ray Ray Taylor, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Pentathlon
    February 14, 2023
    Taylor, a senior from Pottstown, Pa., picks up her third ODAC weekly award of the season after competing in the pentathlon at the Division II Indoor Track & Field Pre-Nationals hosted at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, Va. Taylor posted 3,335 points to win the pentathlon against Division II competition with the ninth-best total in Division III this season. She posted ODAC top-five marks in all three field events of the pentathlon. She won the shot put at 11.38 meters (37-4.00), the fourth-best toss in the conference. She placed second in the high jump at 1.55 meters (5-1.00), tied for fourth in the league. She chimed in third in the long jump at 5.26 meters (17-3.25). She is already the ODAC leader in the event at 5.56 meters set earlier this season. Taylor won the 800-meter run at 2:30.07, which ranks just outside the ODAC's top-five narrowly off her best time of 2:29.45. She added a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles at 9.99 seconds, which is just off her season-best time of 9.59 seconds.
  • Tor Hotung-Davidsen, Lynchburg, Jr., Mid-Distance
    February 14, 2023
    Hotung-Davidsen, a junior from Oakton, Va., earns his second weekly award after setting not just one but two ODAC records in his two events at the NCAA Division I heavy David Hemery Valentine Invitational hosted by Boston University. For the second time this season, Hotung-Davidsen reset the ODAC 800-meter run record. He finished 17th overall and second among Division III competitors with a time of 1:49.17. That time is the second-fastest in Division III this season. When converted to flat/200-meter track parameters for ODAC rankings, his converted time of 1:50.74 tops the conference by nearly four seconds. Hotung-Davidsen joined teammates Chasen Hunt, Marko Kovacevic, and Sam Llaneza in snapping ODAC record in the distance medley relay. They posted a 10th-place time of 9:53.93, which was the third-best D-III time at the meet. That time, which ranks seventh in the country, broke the ODAC record of 9:55.08 set by Lynchburg last season. Hotung-Davidsen and Llaneza were members of that squad. When converted for ODAC rankings, their time of 10:02.01 is more than 24 seconds faster than the next ODAC mark.
  • Tucker Kindig, Shenandoah, Gr., Throws

    Kindig, a graduate student from Spotsylvania, Va., picks up his second straight and third overall weekly award of the season following a strong outing at the River Hawk Friday Night Showdown hosted by Susquehanna University. Kindig, who already set the ODAC record (19.27m) in the weight throw earlier this season, won the event featuring 29 competitors with a toss of 18.77 meters (61-7.00). The only ODAC throws to beat that mark this season are his own. His toss of 18.77 meters would slot seventh-best in Division III this season. Kindig also placed fifth in the shot put at 13.60 meters (44-7.50).
  • Kiara Felston, Shenandoah, Sr., Throws
    February 07, 2023
    Felston, a senior from Dover, Pa., knocked down school and conference records for the second time this season after competing in the weight throw at the NYU Division III Invitational hosted by New York University. Felston became the first woman in ODAC history to crack 17 meters in the indoor weight throw as she bested 13 other competitors to win the event at NYU with a toss of 17.09 meters (56-1.00). This is the second time this year she has reset ODAC and Shenandoah records in this event. Her new mark ranks 14th in the country and is nearly seven feet further than the next closest ODAC competitor on the season chart.
  • William Crowder, Shenandoah, Sr., Sprints
    February 07, 2023
    Crowder, a senior from Winchester, Va., posted a pair of impressive sprints at the NYU Division III Invitational hosted by New York University. Crowder won the third of four preliminary heats in the 60-meter dash with a time of 6.96 seconds. That would have tied for fourth-fastest in the ODAC. But her better that mark in the finals, winning the event with a time of 6.89 seconds. That time sits #1 in the conference and ranks 18th on the Division III performance lists.
  • Tucker Kindig, Shenandoah, Gr., Throws

    Kindig, a graduate student from Spotsylvania, Va., highlighted a strong weekend of throwing performances from ODAC athletes with a stellar showing at the NYU Division III Invitational hosted by New York University. Kindig won the weight throw event, besting a field of 16 D-III throwers with a mark of 18.85 meters (61-10.25). That distance was nearly four feet further than the nearest competitor. It is his second-best throw of the season, one that would rank as the fifth-best toss in the country right behind his ODAC record heave over 19.27 meters at the VMI Team Challenge in December. 
  • Katelyn Gamble, Washington and Lee, Jr., Sprints
    January 31, 2023
    Gamble, a junior from Houston, Texas, picks up her second weekly award in as many weeks following a strong day at the VMI Winter Relays hosted by Virginia Military Academy. Gamble set a Washington and Lee record in the 200-meter dash as she finished second overall and first among Division III competitors in a multi-divisional field of 17 runners with a time of 25.54 seconds. That time slots 31st in the country. When converted to flat track/200m standards for ODAC rankings, her converted time of 25.94 seconds is #1 in the conference.
  • Katelyn Gamble, Washington and Lee, Jr., Sprints
    January 31, 2023
    Gamble, a junior from Houston, Texas, picks up her first ODAC weekly award of the season after blistering three separate heats of the 60-meter dash at the Winter Classic hosted by VMI. In the preliminary heats, Gamble posted a time of 7.69 seconds, the fifth-fastest of the 65 multi-divisional competitors and the second-best in the conference. She then tied Bridgewater's Adalia Coleman for the best mark in the league this year with a 7.68-second run in the semifinals. That was the sixth-fastest qualifying time and ranks as the fourth-fastest with Coleman in Division III this year. Gamble then finished sixth overall at VMI with a sprint of 7.71 seconds in the finals.
  • Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, Jr., Jumps/Hurdles
    January 31, 2023
    Seward, a junior from Ebony, Va., earns her second ODAC weekly honor of the season following two strong showings at the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg University (Ohio). Seward won the triple jump with a leap of 11.71 meters (38-5.00), nearly a half-foot better than her nearest competitor. That mark reset her own Lynchburg program record set last season and currently ranks eighth in Division III. Seward also competed in her other specialty, the 60-meter hurdles. She posted the top qualifying time at 8.83 seconds in the prelims, and then won the finals of the event at 9.10 seconds. She is already #1 in the ODAC and sixth nationally in the event with a previous season-best time of 8.77 seconds.
  • Tor Hotung-Davidsen, Lynchburg, Jr., Mid-Distance
    January 31, 2023
    Davidsen, a junior from Oakton, Va., etched his name in the ODAC record books as part of two runs at the Steemer Showcase hosted by Wittenberg University (Ohio). Hotung-Davidsen won the 800-meter run in a field of 53 Division III competitors with a time of 1:50.43. That snapped his own ODAC and Lynchburg records in the event set last season at 1:51.75. His new time is also the third-fastest in the country this season. When converted to 200-meter flat track specifications for ODAC rankings, his mark tops the conference list by 2.58 seconds over teammate Marko Kovacevic, who finished fifth in the same race. Hotung-Davidsen was joined by Kovacevic, Sam Llaneza, and Chasen Hunt in the 4x400-meter relay. They placed third at 3:24.35, which converts to 3:27.62 and ranks second in the ODAC.
  • Peter Fulton, Bridgewater, Sr., Throws
    January 31, 2023
    Fulton, a senior from Bridgewater, Va., posted a pair of top-nine finishes in the throws at the multi-divisional Patriot Games hosted by George Mason University. Fulton placed fifth out of 22 competitors in the weight throw with a heave of 18.10 meters (59-4.75). That mark broke the Bridgewater program record. It is currently the second-best throw in the ODAC and ranks ninth in NCAA Division III. Fulton also competed in the shot put and finished ninth of 21 throwers at 12.92 meters (42-4.75), his second-best toss of the year.
  • Adalia Coleman, Bridgewater, Jr., Sprints
    January 24, 2023
    Coleman, a junior from Warrenton, Va., began her title defense of the Division III 60-meter dash crown this weekend with her first action of the 2022-23 season at the Finn Pincus Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Coleman ran three of the fastest 60-dash heats in the country, resetting the year's top ODAC mark twice. She won her prelims heat at 0:07.80 and did the same in the semifinals at 0:07.71. She was the only Division III runner to qualify for the finals, and she went on to finish second at 0.07.68. Not only is that the best time in the ODAC this year, but it ranks second-best in the country. Coleman also took part in the 200-meter dash, placing ninth at 0:26.87. She joined teammates Kacee Hooker, Cassidy Oliver, and Jade Buckles in placing third in the 4x400-meter relay at 4:21.61.
  • Kiara Felston, Shenandoah, Sr., Throws
    January 24, 2023
    Felston, a senior from Dover, Pa., collects her second ODAC weekly award of the 2022-23 season following two strong throws at the Collegeville Classic hosted by Ursinus College. Felston, who set the ODAC weight throw record (16.74m (54-11.25)) during her season opening event in December, finished second at Ursinus at 15.66 meters (51-4.50), the second-best throw in the conference behind her own league-record mark. Felston also placed third in the shot put at 11.48 meters (37-8.00), the second-best heave on the ODAC table.
  • Alijah Johnson, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Sprints
    January 24, 2023
    Johnson, a senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., continued his strong season at the SPIRE Midwest Collegiate Invitational in Geneva, Ohio, earning his third ODAC weekly honor of the year. Johnson challenged the ODAC record in the 200-meter dash as his third-place time of 0:21.85 is just 0.05 seconds off the benchmark set by Virginia Wesleyan's Randy Lott in 2014. Johnson's time tops the ODAC ranks and sits 10th in NCAA Division III. Johnson also took over #1 billing in the ODAC table in the 400-meter dash. He placed second in the event at 0:48.72, which joins his 200m time as 10th in the country.
  • Geni Roberts, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Jumps
    January 24, 2023
    Roberts, a senior from Ridgely, Md., earns his second straight ODAC weekly award after top performances in both meets hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University -- the Marlin Invitational and the Blue Marlin Invitational. In the Marlin Invitational, Roberts won the long jump with a mark of 7.04 meters (23-1.25). That distance is second in the ODAC only to his previous Division III top-ranked leap of 7.26 meters (23-10.00). At the Blue Marlin Invitational, Roberts broke his own school record in the triple jump at 14.92 meters (48-11.50). His previous mark was 14.69 meters (48-2.50) set at last season's indoor national championship meet. Roberts' new mark ranks second in the country and tops in the ODAC by 1.27 meters (4-2.00).
  • Betsy Mohnkern, Lynchburg, Jr., Hurdles/Sprints
    January 17, 2023
    Mohnkern, a junior from Livonia, N.Y., put together a pair of strong events on the track at the VMI Invitational over the weekend. Mohnkern matched her collegiate-best time in the 60-meter hurdles, finishing 10th overall and tops among Division III competitors with a time of 0:09.42. That marks ranks third in the ODAC. Mohnkern added another top-five ODAC finish in the 400-meter dash. She crossed the line 21st overall at 1:02.57, just behind her previous season-best mark of 1:01.64, which converts to 1:02.46 and ranks fourth in the conference.

    Taylor, a graduate student from Pottstown, Pa., collects her second ODAC weekly honor of the season and the second in as many reports with the first coming before the holiday break in December. Taylor, a multi-event athlete, competed in eight total disciplines this weekend at the VMI Keydet Invitational and the Kaye and JJ Smith Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University. At VMI, Taylor set the EMU record in the long jump by placing 11th overall at 5.56 meters (18-3.00). That tops the ODAC season chart and ranks seventh in NCAA Division III. She added a seventh place showing in the triple jump at 11.06 meters (36-3.50), the second-best mark in the conference and 25th in the country. Taylor completed twice on the track at VMI. She finished 15th in the 60-meter hurdles at 0:09.59 and 15th in the 200-meter dash at 0:26.37. Her converted time of 0:26.78 in the latter event slots fifth in the conference. At SU, Taylor finished third in the high jump at 1.50 meters (4-11.00). That mark ranks third in the ODAC. She also competed in the three track events, placing fourth in the prelims of the 60-meter dash at 0:08.28 and second in the 60-meter hurdles finals at 0:09.66. That followed a time of 0:09.98 in the prelims. Taylor and teammates Kendra Oguamena, Elili Asefa, and Vanessa Gardiner finished second in the 4x400-meter relay at 4:21.88.

    January 17, 2023
    Johnson, a senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., picks up his second ODAC week award in as many reports with his first coming before the annual holiday hiatus in December. Johnson competed in four total events this weekend at two different meets: the VMI Keydet Invitational and the Kaye and JJ Smith Invitational hosted by Shenandoah University. At VMI, Johnson finished fifth in the 400-meter dash at 0:49.45. That time ranks 16th in NCAA Division III, while his converted time of 0:50.25 tops the ODAC season chart. He also competed in the 60-meter dash, posting a prelims time of 0:07.05 and a ninth-place finals time of 0:06.96. The latter time is fourth in the conference and 36th in the country. At SU, Johnson again competed in the 60-meter dash and stopped the watches at 0:07.05 in the prelims and 0:06.98 in the finals to place third. He then joined teammates Bryson Hunter, Bellamy Immanuel, and Abenezer Abebe for a second place showing in the 4x400-meter relay at 3:36.13. That ranks fourth in the conference.
  • Geni Roberts, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Jumps

    Roberts, a senior from Ridgely, Md., collects his first ODAC weekly award of the 2022-23 season following strong showings at a pair of meets over the past two weeks. The Marlins All-American competed in the long jump at the Rams Indoor Invitational hosted by Virginia Commonwealth University to kickoff the new year on January 8. He placed seventh overall at 6.75 meters (22-1.75). That would stand as the third-best mark in the ODAC until this weekend when Roberts competed twice at the VMI Invitational. He finished second in the long jump at 7.21 meters (23-8.00), second only to his season-opening and NCAA Division III-leading 7.26-meter leap at the CNU Holiday Open in December. His jump at VMI would slot inside the top-five posted marks in the country. Roberts also took part in the triple jump, in which he finished second as well at 14.41 meters (47-3.50). That distance tops the ODAC and ranks sixth in the nation.
  • Ray Ray Taylor, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Pentathlon

    Taylor, a senior from Pottstown, Pa., collected 3,330 points to win the pentathlon and open her season in style at the Bast-Cregger Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Taylor is the only athlete to record a point total in the ODAC this year and ranks third in NCAA Division III. The indoor pentathlon consists of two running events -- 60-meter hurdles and 800-meter run -- and three field disciplines -- high jump, long jump, and shot put. In the 60-hurdles, Taylor finished fifth at 9.741 seconds. She won the 800-meter run at 2:29.46, which ranks as the best time in the conference. Her converted time of 2:27.76 for track size and/or banking ranks 31st in the country. In the field events, Taylor won both the shot put and long jump. She tossed the shot 11.05 meters (36-3.00), marking the second-best throw in the conference. Her leap of 5.33 meters (17-6.00) is also second in the league and slots 25th in Division III. Taylor added a third place showing in the high jump at 1.48 meters (4-10.25), which ranks just outside the ODAC's top-5.
  • Grace Fowler, Roanoke, Jr., Throws
    December 13, 2022
    Fowler, a junior from Lewisville, N.C., put together a strong season-opening performance in the throws at the Bast-Cregger Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Fowler finished second overall and was the top Division III competitor in both the shot put and the weight throw. She heaved the shot 11.32 meters (37-1.75) to take over the top spot in the ODAC so far this season. In the weight throw, Fowler flung the implement 14.46 meter (47-5.25) to rank second in the ODAC.
  • Alijah Johnson, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Sprints
    December 13, 2022
    Johnson, a senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., post three impressive times in sprinting events to kickoff his season at the Bast-Cregger Invitational. In a non-championship event (i.e. not competed at ODAC or NCAA championships), Johnson won the 300-meter dash in 35.09 seconds. According to records published on TFRRS.org, that time is the seventh-fastest in NCAA Division III history. Johnson also competed in the 60-meter and 200-meter dashes. In the 200-dash -- in which he placed 17th at the Division III Championships last March -- Johnson finished 5th overall and first among D-III competitors with a time of 22.56 seconds. That ranks second in the ODAC so far this season. His converted time of 22.17 seconds for track size and/or banking slots him 15th in the country. In the 60-meter dash, Johnson posted a time of 7.08 seconds in the prelims and 7.12 seconds in the semifinals. His 7.08 time is just outside the ODAC's top-five.
  • Joseph Eldridge, Roanoke, Fy., Pole Vault
    December 13, 2022
    Eldridge, a first-year from Chattanooga, Tenn., opened his collegiate career in winning fashion at the Bast-Cregger Invitational hosted by Roanoke College. Eldridge led a first-through-fourth finish in the pole vault, clearing the high bar at 4.05 meters (13-3.5) to best teammates Edward Rygalski and Dominic McCombs by 0.15 meters for the event victory. Eldridge's clearance ranks second in the ODAC sits just outside the top-50 in NCAA Division III.

    Aniya Seward, a junior from Ebony, Va., went record hunting in two events and snapped one of her own Lynchburg standards as part of a strong day at the VMI Team Challenge in Lexington, Va. Seward finished fourth overall in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.77 seconds, 0.02 seconds faster that the Hornets' benchmark she set last season at the SU Final Qualifier. Her new mark currently sits third in NCAA Division III. Seward also improved her hold on second all-time at Lynchburg in the 200-meter dash by placing ninth overall at 26.22 seconds. She ranks second in the ODAC and 22nd in the country. She trails only Jessica Cammarata's time from 2019 of 26.17 seconds in the Lynchburg record book.

    Felston, a senior from Dover, Pa., snapped the ODAC and Shenandoah school records in the weight throw over the weekend at the VMI Team Challenge in Lexington, Va. Felston competed in both the shot put and the weight throw, finishing eighth overall in the shot at 10.67 meters (35-0.25), the second-furthest throw in the ODAC this weekend. Felston then posted her new school and conference benchmark in the weight throw with a third-place heave of 16.74 meters (54-11.25). That breaks the former ODAC record set by Lynchburg's Kim Alfaro in 2015 at 16.18 meters (53-1.00). The previous Shenandoah record belonged to Danyelle McGrady, who posted a mark of 16.02 meters in February 2017. Felston's new throw is ranked fifth in Division III.
