Shenandoah University women's basketball is 2-for-2 is conference championship games as the Hornets lifted their second ODAC trophy in as many tries with a 56-43 victory over Randolph-Macon College on Sunday in the Salem Civic Center. Shenandoah (22-5 overall, 13-5 ODAC), seeded fourth in the tournament, earns the ODAC's automatic entry into the NCAA Division III Tournament field of 64 teams. Randolph-Macon (20-7, 16-2), the ODAC's second seed, is among the league's schools that will wait to see where they rank inside of the NCAA's Region VI for a possible at-large selection. The bracket will be announced on Monday on www.ncaa.com.

Randolph-Macon College made a triumphant return to the Salem Civic Center as the top-seeded Yellow Jackets hoisted their third straight ODAC men's basketball trophy via a 74-59 victory over third-seeded Virginia Wesleyan University on Sunday afternoon.

Washington and Lee University earned three all-conference selections in addition to pair of special awards to headline the 2021-22 All-ODAC Women's Basketball Awards. Generals guard Megan Horn was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year, while W&L mentor Christine Clancy garnered ODAC Coach of the Year laurels from her peers. Shenandoah University point guard Sierra St. Cyr collected ODAC Defensive Player of the Year plaudits. Randolph College is home to the ODAC Rookie of the Year for a second straight season with guard Teniyah Crenshaw-Patterson earning this year accolade. University of Lynchburg guard Lizzie Davis received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year honors from the league's athletic communications personnel.

Randolph-Macon College earned three all-conference selections plus a trio of special individual honors to highlight the 2021-22 All-ODAC Men's Basketball Awards. Yellow Jackets guard Buzz Anthony in the first four-time player of the year in ODAC basketball history, regardless of gender. He claimed his fourth straight Kurt Axe Memorial Player of the Year award, while R-MC mentor Josh Merkel collected his fifth consecutive Bob Johnson Coach of the Year prize from his peers. Randolph-Macon forward Miles Mallory was tabbed the ODAC Defensive Player of the Year. Bridgewater College guard Shod Smith garnered ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels, while Roanoke College guard/forward Kasey Draper received ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year award from the league's athletic communications personnel.

Tiebreakers were needed to determine the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament. Both Washington and Lee University and Randolph-Macon College finished their 18-game conference schedules with 16-2 records. But the Generals 52-49 victory at R-MC in the squads' lone matchup of the season earned W&L the nod in the ODAC's tiebreaking procedures and top billing in the 10-team tournament field. After a year away from its friendly confines, the ODAC Tournament returns to the Salem Civic Center for final-eight play following first round action at two campus sites at the beginning of the week. Competition in the first round is slated for Tuesday, February 22, at the seventh and eight seeds. The winners of those two games will join the top six seeds in Salem for traditional quarterfinal through championship competition beginning on Friday, February 25.

Nationally top-ranked Randolph-Macon College sprinted through the ODAC season with an unblemished 16-0 league record on the way to securing the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. After a year away from its friendly confines, the ODAC Tournament returns to the Salem Civic Center for final-eight play following first round action on two campus sites at the beginning of the week. Competition is slated for Monday, February 21, at the seventh and eight seeds. The winners of those two games will join the top six seeds in Salem for traditional quarterfinal through championship competition beginning on Thursday, February 24.
