Women’s Tennis Earns 6-1 Victory Over Randolph

LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Brevard College women's tennis team (1-1) hit the road for the first time in the fall portion of their season, claiming a 6-1 victory over Randolph College for the Tornados' first victory of 2021-22.

Alli Kogoy and Hannah Hersh teamed up for an 8-4 win in number-one doubles, while Hamrick Perry and Brooke Garland tallied an 8-2 doubles victory to give the Tornados a 2-0 match advantage heading into singles play. 

Kogoy battled in a thrilling three-set match against Randolph's Vanentina Santos (6-4, 1-6, 10-6), while Perry took care of business in number-two singles (6-1, 6-0). Hersh and Sophie Trantham each claimed singles victories to give BC the 6-1 team win.

BC now gears up to take part in the Battle of the Blue Ridge individual tournament, hosted by Sweet Briar College on Saturday and Sunday.
