    Senior quarterback Andrew Ihle (Apex, N.C./Middle Creek) threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more as No. 14 Randolph-Macon dropped a thrilling 39-32 contest at Delaware Valley on Saturday afternoon in the Second Round of the NCAA Championship.
  • ODAC Announces 2022 All-ODAC Football Awards

    ODAC champion Randolph-Macon College and Washington and Lee University each garnered two special individual honors with a league-high 17 Yellow Jackets and 15 members of the Shenandoah University squad highlighting the 2022 All-ODAC Football Awards. R-MC quarterback Drew Campanale earned J. Stokeley Fulton Offensive Player of the Year honors, while Yellow Jackets mentor Pedro Arruza received ODAC Coach of the Year recognition from his peers. W&L linebacker David Onyejekwe was tabbed the Lou Wacker Defensive Player of the Year with fellow General Robert Poindexter securing ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Scholar-Athlete of the Year distinction from the league's athletic communications personnel. Hampden-Sydney College receiver and return man Mason Cunningham picked up ODAC Rookie of the Year laurels.

    Junior Drew Campanale (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) threw for 256 yards and three touchdowns, and the Yellow Jacket defense blanked the Red Dragons in the second half, as No. 14 Randolph-Macon outscored SUNY Cortland 35-28 on Saturday afternoon in the First Round of the NCAA Championship.
  • Bridgewater Meets Apprentice in Second Neptune Bowl

    Two competitors are set for the return of the Virginia Beach Neptune Bowl presented by Double Tree by Hilton Virginia Beach. ODAC regular season runner-up Bridgewater College will square off with Apprentice School on Saturday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m. ET at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex.

    Randolph-Macon College put a cap on its first 10-0 season in week 11, officially locking up the ODAC title and claiming the league's bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament. Bridgewater College and Shenandoah University also added victories to further strengthen their NCAA profiles, but neither received one of five at-large bids to the field of 32 teams. Averett University snapped a six game skid with its first ODAC victory. Randolph-Macon weathered an early push from Hampden-Sydney to collect a 38-17 win at H-SC in the 127th edition of "The Game." Bridgewater got a record-breaking individual defensive performance and posted a season-high for points in a 64-22 victory at Guilford. Shenandoah used three overtime periods to match a program record for wins (8) with a 16-14 triumph at Washington and Lee. Averett opened the "W" column of its ODAC ledger with a 24-20 road win at Ferrum. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Shenandoah quarterback Steven Hugney and Bridgewater linebacker Aaron Nice.

    Randolph-Macon has all but wrapped up the 2022 ODAC football title with one week left following action in week 10. The Yellow Jackets moved to 9-0 overall and 6-0 in league play with a win on Saturday. Only Bridgewater can match them in the standings after posting its third straight winning on Saturday. Shenandoah remained in the win column for a second straight week, and Guilford snapped an 18-game ODAC losing streak with their second victory of the season. Randolph-Macon scored a 52-10 victory over Ferrum to stay atop the ODAC, which includes tiebreakers over the only league team that can time them in the standings. Bridgewater is that squad, with the Eagles posting a 13-6 win over Washington and Lee. Shenandoah improved to 7-2 overall and 4-2 in league play with a 23-7 win over Hampden-Sydney. Guilford posted its first ODAC win of the year with a 26-0 shutout at Averett. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Bridgewater quarterback Jaylen Wood and Guilford defensive back Tristian Bailey.

    Randolph-Macon College remains unbeaten following action from week nine of the Division III season, but the gap between the Yellow Jackets and the rest of the conference is not large. Bridgewater College and Hampden-Sydney College are just one game back in conference play after picking up wins on Saturday. Shenandoah University returned to the win column as well. Randolph-Macon, ranked 16th by the AFCA and 17th by D3football.com prior to games this weekend, scored a 35-21 victory at Washington and Lee, the lone ODAC team to defeat the Yellow Jackets last season. Shenandoah posted its second 45-0 scoreline of the year in winning at Averett University. Hampden-Sydney outlasted Guilford College, 28-21, at home, while Bridgewater went on the road to register a 52-28 victory at Ferrum College This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Shenandoah defensive back Keyshawn Wilder and Randolph-Macon wide receiver David Wallis.

    And then there was one. Randolph-Macon College stands atop the ODAC standings as the lone remaining undefeated team in the league following action in week eight. Bridgewater College and Hampden-Sydney College stayed within a game of R-MC with wins on Saturday to join Washington and Lee University at 3-1 in conference play. Ferrum College collected its first win of the season. Randolph-Macon moved to 7-0 overall and 4-0 in league play with a 35-21 win at Shenandoah University. Bridgewater posted two fourth-quarter touchdowns to help the Eagles outlast Averett University, 23-16. Hampden-Sydney won both the most dynamic and highest-scoring affair of the weekend with a 44-43 overtime triumph at Washington and Lee. Ferrum earned its first victory with a big rushing day in a 31-17 win at Guilford College. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Hampden-Sydney quarterback Tanner Bernard and Tigers' safety Will Pickren.

    Only one team remains unbeaten overall with two squads vying for control of the steering wheel at the top of the ODAC standings following action in week seven of the Division III football season. Randolph-Macon College is unblemished through six games and joined by Washington and Lee University at 3-0 in ODAC play. Hampden-Sydney College won for the second straight week, while Shenandoah University returned to the win column. Randolph-Macon, ranked 16th in Division III by the AFCA and 18th by D3football.com, handed Bridgewater College its first loss of the season in a 44-7 home win. Washington and Lee went on the road for a 17-7 triumph at Ferrum College. Hampden-Sydney and Shenandoah found themselves in high-scoring affairs with the Tigers posting a 37-26 home win over Averett University and the Hornets holding on for a 38-35 victory at home over Guilford College. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Randolph-Macon quarterback Drew Campanale and Hampden-Sydney safety Will Pickren.

    Two teams remain unbeaten overall with three squads standing atop the ODAC standings at 2-0 following week six of the Division III football season. Both Bridgewater College and Randolph-Macon College stand a perfect 5-0 with wins in their first two conference games. Washington and Lee University stands with them with a second win against a league foe in as many tries, and Hampden-Sydney College returned to the win column to even out its ODAC win-loss record at 1-1. Bridgewater needed late heroics that featured all three phases of the game to stand as the lone home team to win in week six with a 23-17 come-from-behind triumph over Shenandoah University. Randolph-Macon traveled to Averett University and scored 28 points early to help itself to 55-7 win over the Cougars. Washington and Lee did all of its damage on the ground in posting a 31-6 road win at Guilford College. Hampden-Sydney scored the opening 20 points in a 35-16 win at Ferrum College. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Hampden-Sydney quarterback Tanner Bernard and Bridgewater defensive back Shawn Harris.

    ODAC teams returned to action following a league-wide bye with the first of seven straight weeks of conference play. Teams battled varying degrees of inclement weather in addition to their opponents, with Bridgewater College, Randolph-Macon College, Shenandoah University, and Washington and Lee University opening the slate with victories on Saturday afternoon. Bridgewater, Randolph-Macon, and Shenandoah each improved to 4-0, while Washington and Lee sits at 3-1. The Eagles outlasted Hampden-Sydney College, 27-17, in Bridgewater. The Yellow Jackets kept Guilford College off the board in the second half on the way to a 48-19 home win. The Hornets shutout Ferrum College, 20-0, in Winchester, and the Generals kept Averett University off the scoreboard, 31-0, in the Cougars first ODAC matchup. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week both don Randolph-Macon colors in quarterback Andrew Ihle and linebacker Jackson Deaver.

    Points, points, and more points featured in week three of the ODAC football season as conference teams posted some eye-popping numbers in closing their non-league slates with all eight on scheduled byes in next weekend. Conference teams went 6-2 on Saturday, leaving three unbeaten with ODAC play set to begin. Bridgewater College, Randolph-Macon College, and Shenandoah University all improved to 3-0 by scoring a combined 123 points. Averett University and Washington and Lee University moved to 2-1 with wins for the second straight week. Hampden-Sydney College left no doubt in its first win of the year by exploding the scoreboard with 70 points. Overall, ODAC teams out-scored their non-league opponents 298-195 including 253-104 in games they won. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Hampden-Sydney running back Melik Frost and Shenandoah linebacker Ben Burgan.

    The Landmark Conference and Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) are pleased to announce a four-year bowl series partnership entitled the Chesapeake Challenge. The Chesapeake Bay, the natural split between the two conferences, serves as the series’ namesake.

    ODAC fans were treated to a little bit of everything in week two as conference teams faired a little better than last week by going 5-3 in non-conference play. Bridgewater College, Randolph-Macon College, and Shenandoah University each won for the second straight week. Averett University picked up its first ODAC-era victory, while Washington and Lee University also leveled its season-record at 1-1 with a win. ODAC teams scored 40 or more points in four of this weekend's games and registered a pair of shutouts. There was also late drama with AU getting its game-winning score in the final minute and Hampden-Sydney College enduring the other end of such an effort by Widener University. In all, ODAC teams out-scored their opponents 258-148, including 212-37 in games league teams won. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Bridgewater quarterback Malcom Anderson and defensive back Aaron Moore.

    All eight ODAC teams were in action this week as Division III football kicked off its 50th season this week. Conference squads went 4-4 with each competing against non-conference opponents. Bridgewater College was joined by Guilford College, Randolph-Macon College, and Shenandoah University in opening with 1-0 records. ODAC teams out-scored their opponents 227-197 overall including 153-68 in the four games won. This week's ODAC Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week are Guilford quarterback Bailey Baker and Bridgewater defensive back Noah Hines.
  • Randolph-Macon Tops ODAC Football Preseason Poll

    ODAC football has routinely been amongst the most competitive sports in the conference, with 2021 proving no different after Washington and Lee University and Randolph-Macon College tied atop the league standings. Much of the same could be in store for 2022 with Randolph-Macon leading the ODAC Football Preseason Poll by just five points over last year's champions. The Yellow Jackets collected a league-best 48 points powered by six first-place votes in the annual survey of the ODAC's eight head coaches. The Generals scored 43 tallies including the remaining two top nods in a close second. Hampden-Sydney College rounds out the top-three with 36 markers.
