  • ODAC Winter and Spring Sportsmanship Teams Announced
    August 20, 2015
    The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.
  • Merkel Returns to Randolph-Macon to Lead Men's Basketball
    April 30, 2015
    Former Randolph-Macon assistant and Salisbury head coach Josh Merkel has returned to Ashland to lead the Yellow Jackets’ men’s basketball program. Merkel, just the fifth head coach of R-MC men's basketball since 1956, was an assistant at R-MC during the 2010-11 season under former head coach Nathan Davis.
  • Postiglione Named Head Men's Basketball Coach at Bridgewater College
    April 27, 2015
    Bridgewater College director of athletics Curt Kendall has announced the hiring of Shawn Postiglione as the school's new head men's basketball coach. Postiglione has eight years of experience as a Division I and III assistant, and over the past five seasons in Division III his teams have compiled a winning percentage of 77.5 and claimed three conference championships. He most recently completed his first year as the lead assistant at Randolph-Macon College.
  • ODAC Featured in April Edition of WhyD3 Show

    [VIDEO] Several ODAC athletes and an administrator are featured in the April edition of the WhyD3 Show. Host Dave McHugh spent the weekend in Salem during the men's basketball final four and conducted interviews with Virginia Wesleyan athletic director Joanne Renn and Jess Rheinheimer, the winner of the Jostens Trophy from EMU. McHugh also conducted his three words feature with Cam Owens, Breven Lyons and Greg Montgomery from VWC, as well as with Rheinheimer.
  • Marlins Defeat Yellow Jackets to Earn Spot in National Semifinals

    Virginia Wesleyan and Randolph-Macon had met three times prior to Saturday evening, with R-MC coming away with three wins. The Marlins got the best of the Yellow Jackets in their fourth showdown, posting a 49-47 triumph in the NCAA Division III quarterfinals to earn a spot in the national semifinals in Salem next weekend.
  • Poe's Double-Double Helps Marlins Reach NCAA Quarterfinals

    Forward Kaelin Poe pulled down a game-best 14 rebounds, including five via the offensive glass, and Breven Lyons hit four three-pointers to lead Virginia Wesleyan to a 75-65 triumph over Dickinson on Friday evening at Randolph-Macon's Crenshaw Gymnasium. VWC will meet host R-MC in the quarterfinals on Saturday with a trip to Salem on the line.
  • Hassell Propels Yellow Jackets into NCAA Quarterfinal Matchup with Marlins

    Senior Joe Hassell recorded his eighth double-double of the season with 21 points and 10 rebounds as top-ranked Randolph-Macon extended its win streak to 25 games in a 64-57 victory over St. John Fisher Friday evening in front of a sellout crowd of 1,300 to advance to the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament Sectional Finals.
  • Moore Explodes for 41 in Marlins NCAA Second Round Win

    Virginia Wesleyan College sophomore guard Khory Moore exploded for 41 points on Saturday evening in Wayne, N.J., leading the Marlins to a 77-74 triumph over host William Paterson University in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. VWC will play Dickinson College in third round action next weekend.
  • Hamilton Helps Shoot Randolph-Macon Past Catholic in NCAA Second Round

    Senior Chris Hamilton (Bellbrook, Ohio/Bellbrook) hit four three-pointers and recorded 18 points, while senior Joe Hassell (Portsmouth, Va./Indian River) contributed 16 points and seven rebounds as the top-ranked Randolph-Macon men's basketball team defeated Catholic 78-65 in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament Saturday afternoon in front of a sellout crowd of 1,511 at Crenshaw Gymnasium.
  • Marlins Hit 15 Three-Pointers in NCAA Win Over John Carroll

    Virginia Wesleyan College hit 15 three-pointers and eclipsed the century mark for the first time this season in defeating John Carroll University, 101-86, in the first round of the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament. VWC moves on to face SUNY-Cobleskill or host William Paterson on Saturday
  • ODAC Gets Two in NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament

    No. 1 Randolph-Macon College was a certainty to enter the NCAA Division III Men's Basketball Tournament after winning the ODAC title and earning the conference's automatic entry. No. 10 Virginia Wesleyan College will also join R-MC on the national stage after earning an at-large bid into the tournament.
  • Randolph-Macon Hoists Sixth ODAC Men's Basketball Trophy

    Senior Marcus Badger was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven assists in the title game as the top-seeded Randolph-Macon men's basketball team outlasted No. 2 Virginia Wesleyan 81-74 in overtime in the ODAC Championship Game Sunday afternoon at the Salem Civic Center.
  • GC's McCarthy, R-MC's Davis Headline ODAC Men's Basketball Awards

    Guilford College guard Matt McCarthy and Randolph-Macon College mentor Nathan Davis secured two of the major honors as part of the 2015 ODAC Men's Basketball All-Conference awards. McCarthy was tabbed the Kurt Axe Memorial Player of the Year, while Davis earned Bob Johnson Coach of the Year laurels. Washington and Lee University forward Clayton Murtha received ODAC Rookie of the Year honors, and Roanoke College center Daniel Eacho was named the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete.

  • ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament Pairings Set

    The final week of the ODAC regular season required some shuffling due to mother nature, but in the end, all games were completed to setup this week's ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament. Randolph-Macon College went thru its league schedule unscathed at 16-0, earning the Yellow Jackets the top seed for the second straight season.

  • Roanoke Men's Basketball Head Coach Page Moir Wins 400th Career Game

    Roanoke College head coach Page Moir earned his 400th career victory on Sunday afternoon as the men's basketball team defeated The College at Brockport, 83-61 in the Pablo Coto Tip-Off Tournament. The Maroons open the 2014-15 season with a record of 1-1, while the Golden Eagles are 0-2 after two games.
