2013 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

  • Dessi Dupuy, Lynchburg, Jr., Forward
    November 04, 2013
    Dupuy, a junior from Lynchburg, Va., helped the Hornets to a pair of wins last week. In the regular season finale, she notched two goals and dished out an assist in LC's 12-0 triumph over Randolph. The win secured a perfect conference season for LC, and locked up the top seed in the ODAC tournament. In the Hornets' quarterfinal matchup with Eastern Mennonite, Dupuy scored three times and handed out an assist in a 12-1 victory over the Royals. LC moves on to face Shenandoah in the semifinals. Dupuy now leads the ODAC in points (40) and goals scored (18).
  • Angela Bosco, Lynchburg, Sr., Forward

    Bosco, a senior from Huntington Station, N.Y., helped the Hornets to a pair of wins to solidify their spot atop the ODAC standings. She opened the week with an assist in an 11-0 triumph against Sweet Briar. On the weekend, she followed up with the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Washington and Lee, which put Lynchburg alone at the top of the conference table. Bosco is fourth in the ODAC with 22 points on nine goals and four assists.
  • Tricia Jessee, Washington and Lee, Fr., Forward

    Jessee, a freshman from Roanoke, Va., helped the Generals to a pair of ODAC wins over Guilford (5-0) and Sweet Briar (10-0), helped W&L remain unbeaten at 9-0 in ODAC play. She scored twice at Guilford and followed that with her first career hat-trick in the win at Sweet Briar. Jessee has 15 points on seven goals and an assist this season.
  • Ashley Barnes, Roanoke, So., Midfielder

    Barnes, a sophomore from Elgin, Ill., helped lead Roanoke to a pair of conference wins over Randolph and Virginia Wesleyan. Barnes opened her week with a career-best four goals in a 6-0 win over the WildCats. The four tallies tied RC's single-game scoring record. She followed that up with one of two goals in the Maroons' 2-0 win over the Marlins. Roanoke has now won four straight games, all coming in conference action. Barnes leads the team with 12 points on six goals.
  • Nathalie Torres, Roanoke, So., Midfielder

    Torres, a sophomore from Wilmington, Del., helped lead the Maroons to a pair of ODAC wins last week. She opened with two goals in a 5-0 win at home against Sweet Briar. She followed that with one more tally in a 4-0 triumph at Randolph-Macon. The two wins snapped a six-game winless streak for the Maroons, including four consecutive 1-0 losses. Torres now has six points on the season.
  • Holley Beasley, Washington and Lee, Jr., Midfielder

    Beasley, a junior from Virginia Beach, Va., provided a pair of game-winners in the Generals 2-0 week against conference opponents. He first decider came in the 63rd minute against Roanoke as she supplied the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win. The drama intensified at Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday as the winner didn't come until the 120th minute when Beasley broke a 0-0 deadlock for the Generals' second straight 1-0 victory. W&L sits atop the conference at 4-0 in the league table. Beasley has notched 12 points on four goals and four assists, the latter of which is tied for second in the ODAC.
  • Kelley Smith, Lynchburg, Fr., Midfielder

    Smith, a freshman from Chesapeake, Va., helped the Hornets to a 2-0 week that included a pair of ODAC wins. Smith notched an assist in the LC's 5-0 win over Randolph-Macon to start the week. She followed that with the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Roanoke as she put away a corner kick in the 28th minute. Smith now has six points on the season with two goals and two assists, helping LC to a 7-1 start, 2-0 in ODAC play.
  • Nora Osei, Eastern Mennonite, Jr., Forward
    September 16, 2013
    Osei, a junior from Springfield, Va., notched her second career hat-trick as she helped the Royals to a 1-1 week. Osei notched all three of her goals in the first half as Eastern Mennonite took down Cairn, 4-1. Osei now has five goals and one assist on the season. She is currently tied for second in the ODAC in goals and points (11).
  • Kaitlyn Clunan, Virginia Wesleyan, So., Forward
    September 09, 2013
    Clunan, a sophomore from Virginia Beach, Va., scored four of the Marlins' six goals over the weekend as Virginia Wesleyan claimed the Captains Classic title. She needed just 3:37 to open the scoring in a 3-0 win over Kean University. She followed that with all three goals in VWC's 3-1 triumph over Baldwin-Wallace College (Ohio). Clunan notched the first goal in the 13th minute, and then put the Marlins ahead, 2-0, with an unassisted effort in the 62nd minute. B-WC cut the lead in half two minutes later, but Clunan put the game out of reach in the 85th minute to complete her hat-trick. Clunan is currently tied atop the ODAC with four goals scored.
  • Danielle Burris, Shenandoah, So., Midfielder

    Burris, a sophomore from Cooksville, Md., helped Shenandoah start off the season with a pair of wins, including the program's first-ever victory over Mary Washington. SU opened its schedule with the Eagles, and Burris poured in both goals in the Hornets' 2-1 triumph. She followed that up with another marker and an assist in a 6-0 victory over Marymount (Va.). Burris leads the early-season ODAC charts in points (7) and is tied for tops in goals scored (3).
