ODAC Players of the Week

BASEBALL
Darrell Thompson, Shenandoah, So.,
Pitcher
Thompson, a sophomore from Stephens
City, Va., tossed a complete game shutout in a 9-0 win over
Bridgewater, helping the Hornets to the top seed in the upcoming
ODAC Baseball Tournament. The southpaw gave up just six hits and
fanned a season-high 12 batters with two walks in nine innings on
the hill. He picked up his eighth win, which also marked the
seventh victory against league foes. Both totals rank atop the
ODAC. His 64 strikeouts also lead the ODAC, while his 2.38 earned
run average sits eighth.

BASEBALL
Keegan Dolan, Washington and Lee, Sr.,
Outfielder
Dolan, a senior from Bethesda, Md.,
put together a strong week in helping the Generals to a 4-2 week
against ODAC foes to secure the fourth seed in the upcoming ODAC
Baseball Tournament. Dolan had at least one hit in all six
contests, going 10-for-29 overall with a double, three homers,
eight runs scored and seven runs driven in. He also stole a pair of
bases and took care of 23 total chances in the outfield without an
error. Dolan finished the regular season with a 3-for-6 day with
two homers and five RBI as the Generals came back for a 9-5 win
over Virginia Wesleyan. The two dingers give him an ODAC-best 10 on
the year, breaking the W&L single season record. He's now
fourth the Generals' career lists with 17 homeruns. He's also
fourth with 31 career steals. This season, Dolan is batting .364
with 32 RBI.

GOLF
Kyle Fuller, Randolph-Macon,
Jr.
Fuller, a junior from Richmond, Va.,
tield for second at the Glenn Heath Memorial hosted by Newport News
Apprentice. He posted a pair of rounds of 75 on the par 72,
6,822-yard track at the Williamsburg Club in Williamsburg, Va. His
first round 75 left him in a tie for the lead, and he ended up
finishing three shots off the lead. Fuller is fourth in the ODAC
with a 74.95 per round average.

MEN'S LACROSSE
Aaron Murphy, Lynchburg, So.,
Attack
Murphy, a sophomore from Downingtown,
Pa., picks up his second weekly honor after helping the Hornets to
a pair of ODAC wins, setting up a logjam at the top of the ODAC
standings with three teams with only one conference loss. Murphy
opened with one goal and a pair of assists as the Lynchburg handed
Washington and Lee its first ODAC loss of the season via an 11-8
scoreline. His tally came on the game's lone man-advantage
opportunity. On the weekend, Murphy accounted for half of LC's
scoring with a career-high six goals in a 12-7 home win over
Randolph-Macon. He also picked up three gound balls and caused a
pair of turnovers. For the season, Murphy is fourth in the ODAC
with 55 points on 35 goals and 20 assists.

MEN'S TENNIS
Michael Holt, Washington and Lee, So.,
No. 2 Singles, No. 1 Doubles
Holt, a sophomore from Henrico, Va.,
put together a 7-1 week as the Generals went 3-1 against some of
the top teams in the ITA's Atlantic South Region in addition to a
win in the ODAC quarterfinals. W&L went up against regionally
top-rated Emory University, #10 Sewanee and #11 Oglethorpe, going
2-1 with the lone loss coming against Emory. Holt competed at #2
singles and #1 doubles all week, posting a 3-1 record in singles
action with his lone loss to region's fourth-ranked player from
Emory (6-4, 6-7, 10-8). Holt won 6-1, 6-4 against OU and followed
that with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Sewanee. In the ODAC Tournament
against Randolph, he won 6-1, 6-0. In doubles play, Holt and
teammate Taylor Shamshiri went 4-0. Rated #5 in the region, the
Generals duo defeated the 15th-rated pair from OU, 8-6, and then
trounced the #2 team from Emory, 8-3. Holt and Shamshiri added 9-7
and 8-1 wins over Sewanee and Randolph. Holt is now 17-6 overall in
singles play and 21-4 in doubles action.

SOFTBALL
Amber Ingram, Lynchburg, Jr.,
Pitcher
Ingram, a junior from Floyd, Va., won
twice last week with a pair of complete game efforts as the Hornets
rattled off a 5-1 week. Ingram tossed a three-hit shutout against
Emory & Henry in game two of a doubleheader sweep of the Wasps.
She fanned seven batters and didn't walk anyone as LC won, 3-0. She
came back with another seven innings effort in a 3-2 triumph at
Ferrum in game two of a split with the Panthers. She gave up two
runs on eight hits with two walks and six strikeouts. Ingram is now
13-3 on the season with a 2.88 earned run average in 107.0 innings
pitched.

SOFTBALL
Marty Wilcox, Guilford, Jr.,
Infield/Outfield
Wilcox, a junior from South Charlest,
W.Va., helped the Quakers to a 3-0 week. She had multiple hits in
all three games, including a pair of three-hit efforts as she went
8-for-10 from the dish with a double, three homers, eight runs
batted in and six runs scored. She also walked twice towards an
.833 on-base percentage. She went 5-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep
of Bridgewater, and then went 3-for-3 with two homers and six RBI
in a 22-0 rout of Southern Virginia. Wilcox is now batting .398 and
is second in the ODAC in both homeruns (9) and RBI (41).

WOMEN'S LACROSSE
Lauren Procaccino, Washington and Lee,
Fr., Attack
Procaccino, a freshman from Manhasset,
N.Y., led the Generals to a 3-0 win in ODAC play, which also saw
them lock up the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Women's Lacrosse
Tournament. Procaccino opened her week with a career-high five
goals in a 20-4 win against Sweet Briar. She followed that with two
goals and two assists in a 20-0 win at Hollins. She capped her
performances with four more tallies and two caused turnovers in a
16-9 win at Bridgewater. Of her 13 shots overall, 12 were on-goal
for a 92.3-percent shooting percentage. Procaccino has racked up 25
points in her rookie season on 21 goals and four assists.

WOMEN'S TENNIS
Toni McDonald, Randolph-Macon, Fr., No. 3
Singles, No. 1 Doubles
McDonald, a freshman from Richmond,
Va., put together a 5-0 week in helping Randolph-Macon to a 3-0
week that included a 5-0 win over Shenandoah to move on to the
semifinals of the ODAC Tournament. She competed at #3 singles and
#1 doubles all week, going 2-0 in singles play. She defeated her
singles opponents from Guilford (6-1, 6-0) and Bridgewater (6-2,
6-4) and was leading 6-1, 5-0 against SU when the match was ended
due to reaching a point of completion. McDonald and partner
Angelina Sportelli went 3-0 at #1 doubles, boasting wins of 8-1,
8-6 and 8-2 over their opponents from GC, BC and SU.
