The ninth-ranked Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team secured the 12th ODAC championship in program history on Saturday in a thrilling 12-11 win at No. 11 Lynchburg.

A spreadsheet full of possible tiebreaker scenarios was ready to be employed to determine the seeding for the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. It turns out the easiest of steps broke all three stalemates that dot the seven-team bracket as two of Saturday's competitors -- University of Lynchburg and Hampden-Sydney College -- open as the top two seeds. Lynchburg (8-1) scored a 14-2 triumph over Hampden-Sydney (8-1) under the lights at Shellenberger Field, supply the needed fuel to win the first step of the ODAC's tiebreaker procedures -- head-to-head results -- to secure top billing for the tournament. The Tigers still benefit from a strong bye situation as the second seed in the field, not having to play again until the semifinal round.

Nationally 11th-ranked and second-seeded University of Lynchburg collected its second straight and ninth overall piece of conference men's lacrosse hardware with an 18-7 victory over Hampden-Sydney College in the ODAC championship at Washington and Lee on Sunday afternoon.

It's a handful of top seeds for Washington and Lee University as the Generals own #1 billing in the ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament for the fifth straight season. League teams played in four conference games on Saturday to close the regular season. For the first time in recent memory, there were zero ties in the final standings with the days results leaving the conference table clean through the top-seven seens. The University of Lynchburg, seeded second in the seven-team field, joins W&L with a bye into the semifinal round. Washington and Lee will serve as host of the ODAC semifinals and championship next weekend.

The No. 4-ranked University of Lynchburg's men's lacrosse team won the program's eighth Old Dominion Athletic Conference championship on the road Saturday with a 16-6 decision over top-seeded Washington and Lee.

There was plenty left to be decided in the men's lacrosse conference table on the final day of the regular season, but the first seven-team field in league history is set for the 2021 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Saturday's results impacted nearly every position in the field, most notably the final fixture between Hampden-Sydney College and the University of Lynchburg. The Hornets, ranked fourth in Division III by the USILA, defeated the 16th-ranked Tigers, 11-9. That result moved Washington and Lee University into the top position by winning percentage (.900) at 9-1 in league games. The Generals will play as the tournament's top seed, a position they have now held for four straight tournaments.

Senior defenseman John Broderick (Manhasset, N.Y. / Chaminade) scored with just 4.7 seconds remaining to lift the 17th-ranked and top-seeded Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team to an 8-7 victory over second-seeded and 20th-ranked Lynchburg on Sunday afternoon at Wilson Field.

Inclement weather including heavy thunderstorms has forced the ODAC to postpone the men's lacrosse semifinal between the University of Lynchburg and Hampden-Sydney College. That game will now be played on Saturday, May 4, at 2:00 p.m. ET. The game will be played at Lynchburg on Shellenberger Field. The championship will still be conducted at Washington and Lee, but it will be moved to Sunday, May 5, at 1:00 p.m. ET.

Lynchburg College scored eight goals over the final 30 minutes and held Roanoke College scoreless in the fourth quarter on the way to a 13-8 triumph on Saturday evening in Lexington to lift the 2018 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament trophy. The victory marks the seventh overall title for the Hornets and their third in the last five years. LC earns the ODAC's automatic entry into the NCAA Division III Tournament field.

That is because Washington and Lee University ran thru its league slate with a 9-0 record to secure the #1 seed in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

2017 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament News

Hampden-Sydney Lacrosse won the ODAC Championship with a 14-9 win over Lynchburg College. The Tigers earn an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament. It is H-SC's fifth ODAC Championship, the first since 2001, and the first ODAC Tournament Championship with the tournament starting with the 2002 season.

For the second time in as many years, a tie at the top of the ODAC standings dictated the assignment of seeds in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Unlike in 2016, this deadlock featured three squads with 8-1 conference records.

The second-seeded Washington and Lee men's lacrosse team scored four goals in the opening 3:59 of the fourth period to pull away for a 10-7 win over fourth-seeded Lynchburg College in the ODAC Championship game on Sunday at Kerr Stadium. The win gives the Generals their 10th ODAC title all-time and their first since the 2009 season.

Roanoke College and Washignton and Lee University finished with matching 8-1 records in conference men's lacrosse action, but it will be the Maroons that occupy the top seed as RC's head-to-head victory over the Generals locked up top billing in the upcoming ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament. Roanoke will also serve as host for the semifinals and finals at Kerr Stadium in Salem.

Junior Austin Stewart broke the Lynchburg College single-season points record in the first quarter as the No. 4-ranked Hornets defeated Roanoke College 17-12 on Sunday afternoon to claim the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) men's lacrosse title. It is the first time in school history that the lacrosse team has won back-to-back conference titles.

Sophomore attack Austin Stewart posted seven goals Sunday as the Lynchburg College men's lacrosse team defeated Hampden-Sydney, 21-13, in the finals of the 2014 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship Tournament. It is the fifth ODAC title in program history and the second in the last three seasons (2012).

Hampden-Sydney College shocked top-seeded Roanoke College, 14-13, in overtime in the ODAC men's lacrosse tournament semifinals on Saturday afternoon in Salem, Va. The Tigers advance to their first ODAC Championship Game appearance since 2002 and will meet third-seeded Lynchburg. The game will be played at Roanoke College at 2 pm on Sunday.
