    Hampden-Sydney College interim athletic director Davis Yake announced the hiring of Tommy DiNuzzo as the college's new head soccer coach.
  • Shenandoah Names Smith as New Men's Soccer Head Coach

    Shenandoah University Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug Zipp announced Tuesday that Matt Smith has been selected as the university's new head men's soccer coach. Smith, the winningest coach in both Johns Hopkins University and Centennial Conference history, comes to Shenandoah after leading the men's soccer program at Alfred (N.Y.) University for the past three seasons.

    The 20th-ranked Washington and Lee men's soccer team advanced to the second-round of the NCAA Tournament after posting a 5-3 edge on penalty kicks following a 1-1 draw against St. Lawrence on Friday night at Franklin & Marshall.
  • W&L's Ritch Leads All-ODAC Men's Soccer Awards

    Washington and Lee earned a league-high seven all-conference honors and Lynchburg placed five players on the All-ODAC First Team as part of the All-ODAC Men's Soccer Awards. Generals' striker Dylan Ritch received ODAC Player of the Year laurels, while Lynchburg mentor Chris Yeager was tabbed the ODAC Coach of the Year. Roanoke centerback Marc Hoppler picked up ODAC Rookie of the Year accolodes. W&L goalkeeper Gillen Beck secured the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award from the conference's sports informatoin directors.
  • Lynchburg, Washington and Lee Selected to NCAA Men's Soccer Field

    We knew that ODAC champion Lynchburg College would play in the upcoming NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament, but we did not know a second team would gain entry to the field of 62. Washington and Lee University joins LC as an at-large bid on the national stage, giving the ODAC multiple teams in the men's soccer bracket for the first time since 2009.
  • Late Goals Send Lynchburg Past Washington and Lee for ODAC Men's Soccer Title

    The saying "better late than never" certainly favored Lynchburg College on Sunday afternoon as the Hornets got two goals late in regulation to overcome a 1-0 game-long deficit and wrap up the ODAC men's soccer championship with a 2-1 triumph over Washington and Lee University. The is an ODAC record 15th for the Hornets and their second in the last three years.
  • Nine-Team Field for ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament Set

    Lynchburg College posted seven league wins and was one of two teams to go unbeaten in the conference regular season on the way to earning the top seed in the ODAC Men's Soccer Tournament. LC finished just one point clear of Washington and Lee University in the standings. The Generals will occupy the second position.

  • Salem Selected as Host City for NCAA Division III Soccer Championships

    The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the seven sites for its championships that are being relocated from venues in North Carolina on Friday morning, with Salem included among the new set of hosts. The City of Salem in conjunction with Roanoke College and the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) were selected to host the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Soccer Championships.

  • Washington and Lee Tabbed Atop ODAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll

    Defending champion Washington and Lee University enters the 2016 campaign as the favorite to lift the conference hardware yet again as the Generals picked up 10 first place votes on the way to 119 total points to lead the ODAC Men's Soccer Preseason Poll. Roanoke College and Randolph College split the remaining two top nods and rounded out the top-three with 104 and 98 points, respectively.
  • Guilford Names Speed as New Men's Soccer Head Coach
    August 11, 2016
    Former Virginia Tech assistant Cory Speed was named head men's soccer coach at Guilford College Thursday. Speed, the Quakers' 17th recorded head coach, replaces Jeff Bateson, who resigned in July after 10 seasons to join the men's soccer coaching staff at the neighboring University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
