2021-22 Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

  • Adalia Coleman, Bridgewater, So., Sprints
    April 26, 2022
    Coleman, a sophomore from Warrenton, Va., put in her final tune-up prior to the ODAC Track & Field Championships with a strong set of races at a dual meet against Eastern Mennonite and hosted at Bridgewater. Coleman won the 100-meter dash with at time of 12.08 seconds. That mark is second in the ODAC and ranks 19th in the country as the reigning Division III "fastest woman indoor track" prepares for the outdoor slate of postseason events. Coleman also competed in the 4x400-meter dash against EMU. She ran the third leg and joined teammates Kacee Hooker, Cassidy Oliver, and Mackenzie Young in posting a time of 4:14.68, fourth-best in the league.
  • Meghan Chaffins, Randolph, Gr., Jumps
    April 26, 2022
    Chaffins, a graduate student from Temperanceville, Va., went record-hunting as she competed on her home track at the WildCat Twilight hosted by Randolph College. Chaffins set the WildCats record in the high jump, taking over the top position in the ODAC in the process. She won the event by clearing 1.61 meters (5-3.25), snapping her own school standard set in 2019. That mark not only leads the conference table, but it ranks 37th in the NCAA Division III. Chaffins also took part in the long jump. She finished third at 5.26 meters (17-3.25), matching her season-best leap from last week's Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg.
  • Tor Hotung-Davidsen, Lynchburg, So., Mid-Distance

    Hotung-Davidsen, a sophomore from Oakton, Va., had one of those "best if he had not already done it" performances at the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia. In field consiting of Division I athletes, Hotung-Davidsen placed 11th overall in the 800-meter dash. His time of 1:49.53 best runners from Duke, Georgetown, and Princeton. That time would be tops in the ODAC and #3 in NCAA Division III if he had not already posted a better ODAC record-breaking time earlier this year. That time -- 1:49.04 -- is second-fastest in the country. This week's mark is still the second swiftest in the league this year.
  • Devin Teal, Lynchburg, So., Jumps

    Teal, a sophomore from Aldie, Va., put his bet foot forward at the WildCat Twilight hosted by Randolph College, the squad's final meet prior to the ODAC Track & Field Championships this weekend. Teal will go into the weekend as the top seed in the high jump as he matched his ODAC-best mark in placing second overall in the event. He cleared 1.93 meters (6-4.00) for the second time this season. That height is two inches (0.05 meters) higher than teammate Cee Jay Williams, who is second in the conference.
  • Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, So., Hurdles/Sprints
    April 19, 2022
    Seward, a sophomore from Ebony, Va., put together her second record-setting performance of the outdoor season at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Seward reset her own ODAC record in the 100-meter hurdles for the second time this season. Her winning time of 14.26 seconds eclipses her previous standard of 14.32 seconds established at last month's Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational. Her new time is a Lynchburg record, ranks #1 in the ODAC this year, and is currently slotted seventh in NCAA Division III. Seward also set a program record in the 200-meter dash with a third-place time of 25.06 seconds. That time is second in the ODAC and 25th in the country. Seward ran the anchor leg of the Hornets second place 4x100-meter relay team. She joined Elizabeth Wenger, Jessica Cammarata, and Vuronika Barnes in posting a time of 48.37 seconds. That ranks second in the ODAC and 24th in D3.
  • Lizzie Davis, Lynchburg, Sr., Jumps/Hurdles
    April 19, 2022
    Davis, a senior from Knoxville, Tenn., picks up her second weekly award following a strong showing at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Davis matched her previous season- and personal-best mark in winning the high jump. She cleared 1.60 meters (5-3.00), which is tied atop the ODAC season chart with Brooke Sandy from Shenandoah. That mark is ranked 38th in NCAA Division III. Davis also took a turn in the 400-meter hurdles. She won that event as well, crossed the finish line at 1:04.60. That time is #1 in the conference and ranks 20th in the country.
  • Alijah Johnson, Eastern Mennonite, Sr., Sprints
    April 19, 2022
    Johnson, a senior from Upper Marlboro, Md., posted a pair of nationally top-four ranked sprints in a record-breaking showing at the Dennis Craddock Coaches Classic hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Johnson set ODAC and Eastern Mennonite records in winning the 200-meter dash. His time of 21.09 seconds won the event by nearly a half-second and ranks second in NCAA Division III this season. That time eclipsed the ODAC record of 21.10 seconds set by former Guilford standout Johnathan Smith in 2012. Johnson also set a Royals record in the 100-meter dash. He only competed in the prelims, but won his section with an ODAC season-best time of 10.48 seconds. That time currently ranks fourth in the country.
  • Geni Roberts, Virginia Wesleyan, Jr., Jumps
    April 19, 2022
    Roberts, a junior from Ridgley, Md., was back in form as he competed for just the second time during the outdoor season at the NCAA Division I-heavy Norfolk State Invitational hosted by Norfolk State University. Roberts, an All-American in the triple jump at last year's NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, took part in the event for the first time outdoors this year and promptly put himself in contention for another national meet qualification. He finished sixth overall and first among Division III competitors at 14.31 meters (46-11.50). That is #1 in the ODAC and slots 13th on the Division III performance chart.
  • Kacee Hooker, Bridgewater, Sr., Sprints
    April 12, 2022
    Hooker, a senior from Chesterfield, Va., has been a standout performer all year for the Eagles and she continued that trend with a strong showing at the WildCat Track Festival hosted by Randolph College. Hooker competed in a pair of sprints highlighted by a victory in the 200-meter dash. She won the event with a time of 25.39 seconds, which is just 0.01 seconds off her season-best mark. That time ranks second in the ODAC and 29th in NCAA Division III. Hooker also competed in the 100-meter dash and finished as the runner-up to teammate Adalia Coleman. Hooker posted a time of 12.37 seconds, which would slot her inside the ODAC's top-five. Her previous season-best time of 12.13 seconds is 13th in the country.
  • Lizzie Davis, Lynchburg, Sr., Jumps/Sprints
    April 12, 2022
    Davis, a senior from Knoxville, Tenn., has done well transitioned from the basketball court to outdoor track & field venues, as evidenced by her strong day at the WildCat Track Festival hosted by Randolph College. Davis won the high jump competition at 1.60 meters (5-3.00). That mark matches the previous ODAC season-best clearance by Brooke Sandy from Shenandoah University. It also ranks 32nd in NCAA Division III. Davis also competed in the 400-meter dash, placing third overall at 1:01.10. That time sits just outside the ODAC's top-five.
  • Kennedy Fauntleroy, Bridgewater, Fy., Sprints
    April 12, 2022
    Fauntleroy, a first-year from Baltimore, Md., is coming into his own in his first outdoor track & field season with his most recent outing at the WildCat Track Festival hosted by Randolph College proving to be his best so far. Fauntleroy, who is also a member of the Bridgewater football team, won a pair of sprints. He posted a time of 11.01 seconds to win the 100-meter dash and added a second gold medal in the 200-meter dash at 22.38 seconds. Both times mark personal-bests in his third meet of the season.
  • Peter Fulton, Bridgewater, Jr., Throws
    April 12, 2022
    Fulton, a junior from Bridgewater, Va., set a pair of Bridgewater program records and nearly reset the oldest active throwing record in ODAC history following his outing at the WildCat Track Festival hosted by Randolph College. Fulton won both the discus and hammer competitions over the weekend, resetting the Eagles' records in both. He spun the discus 50.09 meters (164-4.00) smash the 47.96-meter mark established by Ralph Stevenson in 1981. Fulton's new record is #1 in the ODAC this year and ranks sixth in NCAA Division III. His mark is also less than two feet off the ODAC record of 50.62 meters (166-1.00) set by former Lynchburg standout Seth McGuffin in 1995. Fulton tossed the hammer 53.25 meters (174-8.00) to strengthen his grip on #2 in the ODAC this season. It ranks 16th nationally. Fulton's hammer throw bested the former school-record of 52.00 meters set by Nathan Turner in 2008.
  • Stephanie Burnett, Lynchburg, Gr., Distance

    Burnett, a graduate student from Midlothian, Va., went record hunting in the distance events at the Division I-heavy Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary. Burnett finished ninth overall and tops among Division III competitors in the championship race of the 5,000-meter run. Her time of 17:08.12 is not only the fastest in the ODAC this season, but it is the best mark in the conference since Bridgewater's Olivia Mills posted a time of 17:03.83 in 2013. Burnett's time is currently ranked 12th in Division III. It is also a new program record by 25.84 seconds, eclipsing the time of 17:33.96 set by Kaitlyn Johnson in 2019.
  • Allison Bobst, Lynchburg, So., Pole Vault/Hurdles

    Bobst, a sophomore from Swedesboro, N.J., had an all-around strong day over three events at the Division I-heavy Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary. Bobst strengthened her grip on the top mark in the ODAC in the pole vault. She cleared 3.55 meters (11-7.75) to finish third overall and first among Division III competitors. That new personal-best mark is third all-time in Lynchburg history and currently ranks 19th in Division III. Bobst also competed in the 400-meter hurdles and 4x400-meter relays on the track. In the hurdles, she finished 15th overall 1:05.88. That ranks third in the ODAC and 27th in the country. In the 4x400-relay, Bobst ran the anchor leg following teammates Lizzie Davis, Vuronika Barnes, and Jessica Cammarata. They posted a time of 3:55.28 to finish 10th overall. That time is #1 in the ODAC and fourth in Division III.
  • Tor Hotung-Davidsen, Lynchburg, So., Mid-Distance

    Hotung-Davidsen, a sophomore from Oakton, Va., is looking down upon the rest of the competitors in the country following a stellar day at the Division I-heavy Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary. Hotung-Davidsen finished seventh overall and tops among Division III competitors in the 800-meter run. His time of 1:51.47 is not just #1 in the ODAC, but is fastest in Division III so far this season. It is the second-quickest time in Lynchburg history and is 0.90 seconds off the ODAC record of 1:50.57 set by former Bridgewater College standout Sam Gunther in 2016. Hotung-Davidsen also ran the anchor leg on the Hornets' 4x400-meter relay team. He and teammates Jacob Hodnett, Malik Harvey, and Sam Llaneza finished eighth overall and first among Division III competitors at 3:21.10. That time tops the ODAC chart and ranks ninth in the country.
  • Tucker Kindig, Shenandoah, Sr., Throws
    April 05, 2022
    Kindig, a senior from Spotsylvania, Va., required multiple adjustments to the Shenandoah record books following strong showings at both the Division I-heavy Colonial Relays hosted by the College of William & Mary and the Battleground Relays hosted by the University of Mary Washington. At the Colonial Relays, Kindig reset his own Hornets hammer throw record with a toss of 52.98 meters (173-10.00). That put him sixth in the championship draw of the event and first among Division III competitors. It eclipsed his throw of 51.36 meters at the W&L Carnival last month. Kindig's heave at the Colonial Relays would be #1 in the ODAC if not for his toss at the Battleground Relays the next day. He won the event with a throw of 53.58 meters (175-9.00), which is more than two meters further than the next closest ODAC competitor. That mark ranks eighth in Division III. Kindig also competed in the discuss at UMW, placing 12th at 31.54 meters (103-6.00).
  • Aniya Seward, Lynchburg, So., Hurdles

    Seward, a sophomore from Ebony, Va., went ODAC record hunting despite just competing once at the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Seward won the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.32 seconds. That time ranks #1 in the ODAC and sits third in NCAA Division III. It also eclipses her previous conference and school-record time of 14.43 seconds, which she established at last year's NCAA Championships.
  • Kaitlin Measell, Shenandoah, So., Jumps
    March 29, 2022
    Measell, a sophomore from Greencastle, Pa., freshened the ink on a Shenandoah record she already owned after a strong showing at the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Measell finished third overall and second among Division III competitors in the long jump. Her mark of 5.49 meters (18-0.25) tops the ODAC seasonal chart and ranks 10th in the country. It also resets her own SU record in the event, eclipsing the 5.33-meter jump she posted at Bridgewater last spring. Measell also competed in the 100-meter dash at Lynchburg. She went 13.02 seconds in the prelims and 13.05 seconds in the semifinals before bowing out the competition.
  • Landry Moffo, Virginia Wesleyan, Sr., Hurdles
    March 29, 2022
    Moffo, a senior from Stafford, Va., celebrates his birthday with his first ODAC outdoor weekly award of the season after excelling at the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg. Moffo, who reset the ODAC indoor record (8.09) in the 55-meter hurdles earlier this season, continued his strong year in the hurdles with a fourth place overall finish and first among Division III competitors in the 110-meter hurdles. His time of 15.04 seconds puts him atop the ODAC charts and ranks ninth in the country. Moffo also competed in the 200-meter dash and the 4x100-meter relay. He finished 18th in the 200-dash at 23.60 seconds, and joined Domenic Crosswell, Michael Gatling, and Julius Jacobs in finishing third in the 4x100-relay in 46.33 seconds.
  • Joe O'Connor, Washington and Lee, Sr., Pole Vault/Jumps

    O'Connor, a senior from Henrico, Va., is zeroing in on yet another ODAC record following a strong showing at the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the University of Lynchburg. O'Connor, who earn All-American honors during the indoor season and reset the ODAC indoor pole vault record, is drawing ever-closer to etching his name next to the event's outdoor entry. He reset his own Washington and Lee standard by clearing 4.96 meters (16-5.25) to win the event. That mark is not only #1 in the ODAC, but it is tied for first in NCAA Division III with Jack Miller from Letourneau University (Texas). O'Connor also competed in the high jump, tying for fourth at 1.78 meters (5-10.00), which ranks second in the league.
  • Katelyn Gamble, Washington and Lee, So., Sprints
    March 22, 2022
    Gamble, a sophomore from Houston, Texas, picked up outdoors right where she left off her All-American indoor season with a record-breaking outing at the W&L Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee. Gamble bested her own Generals record in the 100-meter dash -- 12.04 seconds set at the 2021 NCAA Championships -- by winning the event in 11.97 seconds. That mark is 0.34 seconds off the ODAC record and currently ranks #1 in Division III in the early going of the season.
  • Quinlin Zunk, Washington and Lee, Fy., Throws
    March 22, 2022
    Zunk, a first-year from Moseley, Va., went record hunting in her first collegiate outdoor track & field experience at the W&L Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee. Zunk competed in all four throwing events. She finished second in the discuss with a new Generals record spinning toss of 39.33 meters (129-0.00). That snapped an 11-year old record of 38.60 meters. Zunk's new mark is tops in the ODAC and sixth in Division III in the early going of the season. In the hammer throw, Zunk finished 16th at 35.76 meters (117-4.00) and chimed in 17th in the javelin at 24.59 meters (80-8.00). Her hammer throw is the fifth-best in program history. She also placed 20th in the shot put at 9.16 meters (30-0.75).
  • Alex Shadkhoo, Lynchburg, Sr., Sprints
    March 22, 2022
    Shadkhoo, a senior from Herndon, Va., got his outdoor season started off in record fashion with two races at the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational hosted in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Shadkhoo snapped a long standing Lynchburg mark in the 100-meter dash as his time of 10.59 seconds topped Jason Smith's previous standard of 10.61 seconds set in 1999. Shadkhoo was the top Division III competitor in the field and finished fourth overall. His time is #1 in the ODAC and second in the country in the early going of the season. Shadkhoo joined teammates Ryan Fore, Julian Douglas, and Malik Harvey in the 4x100-meter relay. They finished sixth at 43.31 seconds, good for third in the ODAC.
  • Wyatt Schannauer, Shenandoah, Sr., Throws
    March 22, 2022
    Schannauer, a senior from Sinking Spring, Pa., competed in three throwing events and snapped a school-record as part of a strong outing at the W&L Carnival hosted by Washington and Lee. Schannauer won the shot put with a toss of 14.27 meters (46-10.00), establishing a new Shenandoah standard for the event. That mark is more than a foot longer than the second-best showing in the conference and ranks 14th in Division III in the early going. Schannauer also took part in the discus and hammer throw. He placed sixth in the discus with an ODAC third-best mark of 40.25 meters (132-1.00). He chimed in 10th in the hammer at 41.00 meters (134-6.00).
