    Director of Athletics Jon Waters announced today that Chris Johnson has been appointed as the Director of Tennis. He will assume his duties effective immediately.

    For the second straight year, Washington and Lee University and Eastern Mennonite University feature in the ODAC's highest scholar-athlete honors. Generals' women's tennis star Brooke Donnelly is joined by Royals' men's track & field and cross country standout Tyler Denlinger as the winners of the 2017 Marjorie Berkley and Harry G. "Doc" Jopson Scholar-Athlete Awards, as selected by the ODAC Board of Directors.

  • Washington and Lee's Donnelly Headlines All-ODAC Women's Tennis Awards

    Washington and Lee University standout Brooke Donnelly took home two major awards to headline the 2017 All-ODAC Women's Tennis honors. She was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year in addition to repeating as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Randolph-Macon College mentor Charles Gray earned ODAC Coach of the Year laurels in a vote of his peers, and Lynchburg College first-year competitor Christina Harris received ODAC Rookie of the Year accolades.
  • Washington and Lee Claims 27th ODAC Women's Tennis Title

    The 13th-ranked and top-seeded Washington and Lee women's tennis team claimed its 15th straight ODAC title with a 5-0 victory over second-seeded Randolph-Macon in the championship match of the conference tournament on Sunday afternoon at the Banks Tennis Center.

  • Seeding Set for ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament

    Washington and Lee University finds itself in a familiar position following the spring women's tennis season as the Generals stand atop the eight-team field slated to compete in the ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament. W&L, which ran thru its ODAC schedule with a perfect 11-0 record, is ranked 13th in the country by the ITA, which is the same ranking the Generals enjoyed at the outset of the conference tournament last season.

  • Generals Lead ODAC Women's Tennis Preseason Poll
    February 03, 2017
    Fourteen-time defending champion Washington and Lee University stands atop the ODAC Women's Tennis Preseason Poll, conducted annually by the league's head coaches. The Generals earned 121 points with a full allotment of 10 first place votes. Randolph-Macon College picked up the remaining top nod and joined W&L above the century mark with 109 points. Roanoke College rounds out the top three with 96 points.
  • Lynchburg Tabs Christopher Clarke as Director of Tennis

    Director of Athletics Jon Waters announced today the appointment of Christopher Clarke as the new Director of Tennis for the Lynchburg Hornets. " Chris has had a wide variety of tennis experiences and will be a great mentor and coach for our tennis programs as they continue to build on the successes of last year and the hard work that they have put in this fall. " said Waters. Clarke, a PTR Certified Professional, will begin immediately.
  • Donnelly Wins Women's ITA Southeast Regional Championships Singles Bracket

    Washington and Lee senior women's tennis player Brooke Donnelly (Kennesaw, Ga. / Marietta) won the 2016 ITA Southeast Regional Championships singles bracket on Monday afternoon, hosted by Mary Washington. With claiming the title, Donnelly is now a three-time All-American.
  • Former LC Standout Record Returns to Lead Hornet Tennis Programs
    August 19, 2016
    Athletic Director Jon Waters announced on Friday that former Lynchburg College tennis standout and Hall of Fame member Kevin Record has been named the head men's and women's coach of the Hornets. Record made the finals of the ODAC tournament at the No. 2 singles position three times and, along with Conrad Frey, was among the first two LC players ever selected to play in the NCAA Tournament.
