Generals Send Care Packages to Troops
The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at Washington and Lee is working with groups across campus and within the community to assemble and send 500 care packages to soldiers in Afghanistan. R-MC Knocks Off American in Exhibition
Eric Pughs (above) lay up as time expired sent Randolph-Macon to a 49-47 victory over defending Patriot League Champion American University in mens basketball exhibition action on Tuesday night in Washington, D.C. It's marks R-MC's second preseason win over a D-I program in the last two years.

Guilford Tops Men's Basketball Poll
Guilford College collected 10 first place votes and 119 total points to earn the top slot in the 2009 ODAC Mens Basketball Preseason Poll. Virginia Wesleyan College and Randolph-Macon College tied for second with 103 total tallies. The Marlins also received the remaining first place vote.

Guilford Tabbed #2 by The Sporting News
Guilford men's basketball is ranked second in The Sporting News' College Basketball Magazine Top-10 Poll. Two-time defending national champion Washington University in St. Louis, which defeated Guilford in last year's NCAA Division III national semifinals, earned the poll's top spot. GC center Tyler Sanborn (above) was tabbed as a Preseason All-American.

WLU's Goodman Reaches New Heights
A feature in the latest edition of The NCAA News features recent Washington and Lee graduate Isaiah Goodman, but in a bit of a twist from his basketball background. Goodman starred for four seasons as the Generals' point guard.
