The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's soccer team picked up its second ODAC win in as many games as the Maroons shut out the Hampden-Sydney Tigers on the road 1-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The lone goal of the contest came at 23:06 when Chris Jerrild sent a corner kick into the box that found the head of Quinn Kunath to knock the ball in past the goalie for his first goal of the season and a 1-0 Maroon lead.
  • The defense kicked up a notch in the second half as the two teams combined for just 10 shots with neither team finding the back of the net, allowing Roanoke to preserve the 1-0 shutout win.

BY THE NUMBERS

  • Zach Behe improved to 4-4-2 on the season, playing all 90 minutes in goal, and making four saves. 
  • The Maroons took eight of their 12 corner kicks in the second half.
