The Basics
Score: Roanoke 26 | Randolph 3
Records: Maroons 8-2 / 5-1 ODAC | WildCats 3-7 / 1-5 ODAC
Location: Lynchburg, Va.

The Lead: The Roanoke College women's lacrosse team played their final Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season game on Tuesday night when they traveled to Lynchburg to face Randolph College. The Maroons used a 38-5 shot advantage on their way to an easy win over the WildCats, securing the second seed in next week's 2021 ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament.

How it Happened:

  • Seven consecutive scores would see Roanoke take a big lead in the opening minutes of the game. Ellie Armstrong scored back-to-back goals off assists by Molly Kasemeyer. Kasemeyer added her own score then handed out a third assist on a Lilly Blair score.
  • Claire Eisenhart made it 5-0 before Blair added to the lead. When Tiernan Connor scored down a player, Roanoke had put up seven on the score board in just over six minutes of action.
  • 26-2 would be the shot advantage of the Maroons during the first 30 minutes as Roanoke would take a 19-1 lead into the half.
  • Seven unanswered scores to start the second half would be more than enough to secure the ODAC win.
  • Armstrong finished with five goals on five shots. Blair had three scores and an assist while five Maroons would add two goals apiece. In all, 15 different Maroons would score and Kasemeyer handed out four of RC's 11 assists.
  • In goal, Kyleigh Chickering got the start and picked up her first collegiate win with Hallie Redding playing the second half.

Up Next: Roanoke will await to see who they will host on Friday, April 30 in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament.
