The Lead: The Roanoke College women's volleyball team fell in their first true road match of the season at Washington and Lee, 3-0. It was also the first Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) match of the season for both teams.
Highlights:
- The Generals used a .324 attack percentage and 14 kills to pull away from Roanoke midway through the first set for the 25-16 first-set win.
- The Maroons scored more kills in the second set and reduced their errors, but WLU once again used a stretch in the middle of the set to pull away for a 25-18 set two win.
- The third set went to the Generals 25-15 to clinch the match 3-0.
- Peyton Kirchner reached double-digit kills for the fifth time this season with 10. She also added two blocks.
- Kylee Draper dished out 21 assists against WLU.
- Kennedy Clemmer finished the match with a team-high 10 digs.
Up Next: The Maroons will stay on the road this week with a visit to Bridgewater on Thursday, September 15. The match with the Eagles gets underway from Nininger Hall in Bridgewater at 7 p.m.
