The Short Story: The Roanoke College men's tennis team fell 7-2 to Shenandoah in a conference matchup in Salem.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hornets assumed a 2-1 advantage through doubles action. SU's Jovan Cirkovic and Artem Babaiev topped Federico Maccari and Zach Kriebel 8-5 at #1, while Dominick Suwak and Keith Orr defeated Hardt Lesko and John-Henry Herrington 8-4 at #2.
- Roanoke snagged a point at #3 doubles, where Julio Marques and Jackson Wagner bested Brenton Baugh and Jonathan Clippinger 8-5.
- Shenandoah claimed straight-set wins at the top four singles spots. Cirkovic knocked off Maccari 6-0, 6-4 at #1, Babaiev downed Kriebel 6-1, 6-1 at #2, Suwak beat Lesko 6-1, 6-1 at #3, and Orr overcame Marques 6-4, 6-3 at #4.
- The Maroons' lone singles point came at the #5 slot, where Herrington recorded a 6-3, 6-4 win over Baugh.
- At #6 singles, Clippinger defeated Wagner 0-6, 6-5 (retired).
