The Short Story: Roanoke picked up a commanding ODAC victory over Ferrum at home on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Maroons rolled to three lopsided wins in doubles play. Halle Fernstrum and Julia Bassett defeated Tennessee Phillips and Emma Loughrey 8-1 at #1, Lia Streibich and Victoria Rios blanked Emily Mahood and Hannah Huffman 8-0 at #2, and Zane Maiden and Emma Johnson recorded an 8-1 victory over Morgan Hundley and Gabby Mendoza at #3.
• Roanoke clinched the match with wins at the top two singles spots. Fernstrum bested Phillips in the top flight (6-0, 6-0), while Streibich topped Loughrey at #2 (6-0, retired).
• The Maroons picked up three more singles victories: Bassett over Hundley at #3 (6-0, 6-2), Rios against Mahood at #4 (6-2, 6-1), and Johnson over Mendoza at #6 (6-1, 6-2).
• The Panthers' lone point came at #5 singles, where Huffman came from behind to top Maddie Morrell in a super tiebreak (4-6, 6-2, 15-13).
