HOW IT HAPPENED

  • It did not take long at all as the Maroons scored their quickest goal of the season just 50 seconds into the contest when Harrison Kraus found Isaac Wolf for the Maroons' first goal and a 1-0 lead.
  • A quick step and shot around the defender in the box by Liam Camilleri at 17:44 found the back of the net for the 2-0 lead; in what would be the game-winner.
  • Gabriel Hendi scored his first goal of the season shortly before halftime at 43:34 off a pass from Girom Affolter, giving Roanoke a 3-0 lead at the break.
  • Just five and a half minutes into the second half, a pass from Jordan Fiorani found Quinn Kunath inside the box for the Maroon's fourth goal at 50:26.
  • The long ball nearly went out on Tiernan Armstrong to the left of the goal, but he saved it and quickly got it to a streaking Affolter who fired a goal at 67:32 to put the Maroons ahead 5-0.
  • The final goal for Roanoke came when Adam Shaia found Evan McIntyre between two defenders about 10 feet in front of the goal. McIntyre rocketed the ball past a diving keeper to put the Maroons ahead 6-0.
  • A long pass by the Panthers was nearly stopped by goalie Luca Gustafson but Ferrum snuck the ball in to provide the final winning margin for the Maroons at 6-1.
