The 21st-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Saturday in a 5-1 loss to No. 15 Mary Washington in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

The No. 21 Washington and Lee women's tennis team opened play in the NCAA Division III Championship on Friday with a 5-0 win over St. Mary's (Md.) in the first round.

The University of Lynchburg and Sweet Briar College each collected one special individual honor and six all-conference team selections to headline the 2022 All-ODAC Women's Tennis Awards. Washington and Lee University and Shenandoah University matched with four all-conference team picks each, while the Generals secured the remaining two special awards. W&L sophomore Gabi Moss earned ODAC Player of the Year distinction, while Generals mentor Erin Ness garnered ODAC Coach of the Year laurels. The league's coaches also honored Sweet Briar first-year Ana Patino as the ODAC Rookie of the Year, while the conference's athletic communications personnel tabbed Lynchburg junior Elizabeth Teefey as the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Washington and Lee University junior Taylor Garcia and Sweet Briar College sophomore tandem Ruth de Souza and Allison Wandling closed out the 2021 tennis season by competing in the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Singles and Doubles Tournament.

The 18th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team saw its season come to an end in a 5-0 defeat to No. 2 Wesleyan (Conn.) in the NCAA Championship Quarterfinals on Monday morning.

Top-flight singles player Michelle Fleenor was tabbed the ODAC Player of the Year, while teammate Valerie Marshall earned ODAC Rookie of the Year recognition. Generals' mentor Erin Ness received ODAC Coach of the Year accolades. Randolph-Macon College junior Gaby Tersigni earned the ODAC/Virginia Farm Bureau Insurance Scholar-Athlete Award from the league's sports information directors.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced that Washington and Lee junior Brooke Donnelly (Kennesaw, Ga. / Marietta) is the recipient of the Elite 90 Award for the 2016 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.

Washington and Lee University junior Brooke Donnelly added to her awards haul during the postseason as she earn All-America status following her first round singles win at the NCAA Division III Singles and Doubles Tournament in Kalamazoo, Mich. Donnelly and teammate Tessa Hill also participate in the doubles flight of the season-ending event.

For the first time in four seasons, a new player stands atop the ODAC women's tennis awards list as Emory & Henry College standout Sveva Mazzari earned ODAC Player of the Year honors from the league's head coaches. The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2014-15 ODAC Sportsmanship Teams in each of the 17 winter and spring sports sponsored by the conference. This marks the sixth year the league has recognized these fine student-athletes for their excellence in sportsmanship.

The Virginia Wesleyan College athletic department announced the hiring of Martin Perry as the new Director of Men's and Women's Tennis recently. Perry comes to Virginia Wesleyan from Longwood University where he was the head coach of the men's tennis program. He has also led the Bridgewater College tennis programs.

The 16th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team fell to No. 15 Sewanee, 5-4, on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, hosted by Emory University.

The 16th-ranked Washington and Lee women's tennis team flew past Methodist, 5-0, in first round action of the NCAA Division III Tournament on Friday, hosted by Emory University. The Generals dropped just two points in sweeping all three doubles matches to enter singles with a 3-0 advantage. W&L then won at No. 1 and 5 singles to claim the 5-0 victory.

Washington and Lee University will represent the ODAC in both the NCAA Division III Men’s and Women’s Tennis Team Tournaments, set to begin play May 10-12 in a series of first, second and third round matches. The Generals earned their spots in both tournaments via the ODAC’s automatic bids after winning the conference postseason tourneys.

The Washington and Lee women's tennis team was defeated by No. 5 Emory, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon in NCAA Tournament third round action. W&L completes its season with a 20-6 overall record. Lauren Lukas and Sonja Meighan will play in the singles tournament May 24-26.

Washington and Lee women's tennis players Ellen Yeatman (pictured), Lauren Lukas and Trelsie Sadler were joined by Sweet Briar's Ariel Taylor at the 2011 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Individual Tournament on Friday. Yeatman and Taylor competed in the singles competition, while Lukas and Sadler teamed in the doubles bracket.

This year, the 2007 Marjorie Berkley Scholar-Athlete Award winner as the top female student-athlete is Washington and Lee University senior, Ginny Wortham. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Wortham is a standout on the Generals’ 2007 NCAA Division III National Championship women’s tennis team.
