ROANOKE EARNS SECOND STRAIGHT TOP SEED

SALEM, Va. --- For the second time in as many seasons, Roanoke College will enter the 2010 ODAC Women's Basketball Tournament as the top seed.  The Maroons are followed by Randolph-Macon College, Washington and Lee University and Bridgewater College, sequentially, in comprising the top four rankings.  Each of those squads will be designated the home team in the quarterfinals that begin on Thursday, February 25, in the Salem Civic Center.

Virginia Wesleyan College will play the role of visitor as the No. 5 seed against Bridgewater.  Sixth-seeded Guilford College will square off with Washington and Lee in the quarterfinals.  Eastern Mennonite University takes on Randolph-Macon in its opening game, while Lynchburg College takes on Roanoke to open tournament play.

There was one tie amongst the women's ranks that had to be broken using the ODAC's tie-breaking procedure.  Guilford and Eastern Mennonite both finished with 11-9 league records.  The Quakers earned the higher seed based on their head-to-head victories over the Royals in both of their regular season matchups.

All of the tournament games in Salem (including the men's tourney contests) will be video webcast through Penn Atlantic.  Each of the 14 matchups will be FREE to all viewers.  A link on the ODAC tournament website (see below) will be available to direct those interested to the webcasts.
