Virginia Wesleyan gets top seed over randolph-macon
FOREST, Va. --- Virginia Wesleyan College
enters the 2011 ODAC Men’s Basketball Tournament as the top
seed for the first time since 2007, earning the event’s top
billing thanks to head-to-head tie-breaker over second seeded
Randolph-Macon College. Eastern Mennonite University and
Guilford College hold down the third and fourth seeds,
respectively, while Randolph College earns its first trip to Salem
in program history as the fifth seed.
The remaining six seeds enter into first round competition set to
begin on Tuesday, February 22, at the campuses of the higher seeded
teams. As the sixth seed, Hampden-Sydney College will host
No. 11 Emory & Henry College. Tenth-seeded Bridgewater
College will travel to Roanoke College, the seventh seed, for a
rematch of their final regular season contest. Lynchburg
College, owners of the eighth seed, will host ninth-seeded
Washington and Lee University. Each of the first round games
will be played at 7:00 p.m. with the winners advancing to the
quarterfinal round in Salem on Friday.
Each of the tournament’s games (including the women’s
tourney contests) will be video webcast through New Media TV
(formerly Penn Atlantic). Each of the 14 matchups will be
FREE to all viewers. A link on the ODAC tournament website
(see below) will be available to direct those interested to the
webcasts.
