Randolph-Macon is Top Seed for Second Straight Year

FOREST, Va. --- The final week of the ODAC regular season required some shuffling due to mother nature, but in the end, all games were completed to setup this week's ODAC Men's Basketball Tournament.  Randolph-Macon College went thru its league schedule unscathed at 16-0, earning the Yellow Jackets the top seed for the second straight season.

Virginia Wesleyan College (13-3) and Guilford College (10-6) had already wrapped up the second and third seeds, respectively, coming into the season-capping weekend, but Eastern Mennonite University (9-7) needed a victory and then tie-breakers with Lynchburg College (9-7) to secure the fourth seed and the remaining bye into the quarterfinal round in Salem.  The deadlock needed the ODAC's second level of tie-breakers in order to separate the two squads, leaving EMU ahead after the application of the five-point tiebreaking system.

Lynchburg will be one of four teams hosting first round games on Monday, February 23, at 7:00 p.m. ET.  LC will welcome 12th-seeded Shenandoah University (3-13) to town.  Emory & Henry College (4-12), the 11th seed, will head to #6 Hampden-Sydney College (8-8).  Seventh-seeded Washington and Lee University (7-9) invites #10 Roanoke (5-11) up I-81 for their first round tilt.

The remaining first round game involved head-to-head tiebreakers.  Randolph College (6-10) earned the remaining hosting opportunity thanks to its regular season win over Bridgewater (6-10).  The WildCats will play as the eighth seed, while the Eagles are slotted ninth.

Tournament play begins on Monday, February 23, with four first round contests at the previously mentioned 5-8 seeds.  The winners of those four games will join the top four seeds in Salem at the Salem Civic Center for the quarterfinals on Thursday, February 26.  Semifinals will be on Saturday, February 28, followed by the championship game on Sunday, March 1.
