ODAC Baseball Tournament Seeds Set

Lynchburg, Bridgewater top two seeds

FOREST, Va. --- The pairings are set for the 2012 ODAC Baseball Tournament and Lynchburg College enters the postseason as the league’s top seed.  The Hornets topped the conference with a 14-4 league mark to go with a 30-8 overall record.  LC has been the top seed three out of the past five years heading into the tournament.

Bridgewater College (12-6, 27-12) holds down the second seed, while the third and fourth spots in the ladder came down to league tie-breakers.  Emory & Henry College (11-7, 15-21) will play out of the third spot, while Randolph-Macon College (11-7, 18-16-1) secured the fourth position.  The Wasps enter the tournament for the first time since 1999 and the Yellow Jackets go in search of their second-straight conference crown.

Guilford College (9-9, 21-18) owns the fifth spot outright, while head-to-head tie-breakers decided the final spot.  Hampden-Sydney College (8-10, 13-25) caps the field as the sixth seed, having swept Washington and Lee University during the regular season.

Lynchburg's historic City Stadium, home of the minor league Lynchburg Hillcats, will again play host to each of the contests in the tournament's double-elimination format.  Play begins on Thursday, April 26 and runs through championship Sunday on April 29.  The first of Thursday's three games begins at 11:00 a.m.

Listed below is the schedule for the 2012 ODAC Baseball Tournament.  Due to the double elimination format, play on Saturday and Sunday could be altered depending on the number of teams remaining in the field (scenarios outlined on tournament website).
