Inclement Weather Forces Change of Schedule at ODAC Baseball

LYNCHBURG, Va. --- A thunderstorm in the Lynchburg area has postponed further play in the ODAC Baseball Tournament on Friday evening. Games are scheduled to continue on Saturday at City Stadium.

Friday evening's second game had already been delayed due to a longer-than-normal first game between Randolph-Macon College and Shenandoah University. The Hornets pulled out at 9-7 victory after 3:25 of game action.

The late ending of game one had already forced the start time of game two to 8:30 p.m., but lightning delays followed by heavy rains in the area forced the games committee and City Stadium staff to postpone play in game two -- and the remainder of the tournament -- to Saturday.

Game two between Virginia Wesleyan University and Roanoke College is now slated for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12. Game three will feature the loser of that contest and Randolph-Macon at 3:30 p.m. Game four, which finds Shenandoah awaiting the winner of game two, is set for 7:00 p.m. The remainder of the tournament schedule concerning further games will be communcated in a later update as well as posted to the ODAC, Randolph-Macon, Roanoke, Shenandoah, and Virginia Wesleyan schedules.
