ODAC Field Hockey Tournament Pairings Set

Hornets Have Perfect ODAC Record for Fourth Straight Year

FOREST, Va. --- Lynchburg College and Randolph-Macon College earned byes into the semifinals of the 2012 ODAC Field Hockey Tournament for the third consecutive year in the sport’s six-team format.  The Hornets garnered the top seed after winning each of their eight league contests.  The Yellow Jackets enter the ODAC postseason as the second seed with a 7-1 league mark.

Bridgewater College earned the third seed outright, while Shenandoah University and Washington and Lee University tied at 4-4.  Head-to-head results pushed the Generals into the fourth spot via a victory over fifth-seeded SU during the regular season.  There was also a tie for the final slot.  Eastern Mennonite University and Roanoke College tied for sixth in the regular season standings.  The Maroons enter the tournament as the #6 seed thanks to their head-to-head victory over the Royals earlier this year.

Shenandoah will travel down I-81 to Washington and Lee and the Maroons will make a trek to Bridgewater for a matchup with the Eagles in the quarterfinals on Saturday, October 27.  The winners will play Tuesday, October 30, at either Lynchburg or Randolph-Macon.  The ODAC Championship will take place on Saturday, November 3, on the campus of the highest remaining seed.
