ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament | First Seven-Team Field Set

Washington and Lee Enters as #1 Seed for Fourth Straight Tournament

FOREST, Va. --- There was plenty left to be decided in the men's lacrosse conference table on the final day of the regular season, but the first seven-team field in league history is set for the 2021 ODAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament.

Saturday's results impacted nearly every position in the field, most notably the final fixture between Hampden-Sydney College and the University of Lynchburg. The Hornets, ranked fourth in Division III by the USILA, defeated the 16th-ranked Tigers, 11-9. That result moved Washington and Lee University into the top position by winning percentage (.900) at 9-1 in league games. The Generals will play as the tournament's top seed, a position they have now held for four straight tournaments.

Lynchburg's win moved them into a tie with Hampden-Sydney for second in the conference standings at 8-1 (.875). The head-to-head victory via Saturday night's result provided the tiebreaker in Lynchburg's favor, awarding the Hornets the #2 seed. The Tigers entry the ODAC tournament as the #3 seed.

Tournament play in the new format will feature on four separate days this season, beginning with the first round on Sunday, May 2. The quarterfinals are set for Tuesday, May 4, with the semfinals on Thursday, May 6. The league champion will be determined on Saturday, May 8. All games will be played on member campuses with the higher seed hosting each matchup in the bracket.
