ODAC Men's Tennis Seeds Set

Hampden-Sydney Enters as #1 Team

SALEM, Va. --- Defending ODAC champion Hampden-Sydney College enters the 2010 ODAC Men’s Tennis Tournament following a 9-0 record in conference play.  The Tigers, who are 12-3 in overall action, currently stand 27th in latest ITA NCAA Division III National Poll.

Washington and Lee University (11-6 overall, 8-1 ODAC), ranked 25th in the nation, follows H-SC as the second seed.  Both squads feature players rated in the ITA Atlantic-South Region rankings.  The Generals’ Hayden White is fourth while three-time ODAC Player of the Year, Williams Moss, heads the Tigers as the 10th slotted player in the region.

Bridgewater College (12-5, 7-2) holds down the third seed outright, but a three-way tie for fourth required conference tie-breakers to set the next three seeds.  Emory & Henry College (15-5, 5-4) is the fourth seed and will open tournament play against fifth seeded Roanoke College (7-8, 5-4).  Guilford College sits sixth (6-6, 5-4) while Lynchburg College (4-9, 3-6) and Virginia Wesleyan College (4-12, 2-7) round out the eight-team field, respectively.

Tournament play begins Friday, April 23, with each of the four quarterfinals scheduled at Washington and Lee's outdoor courts.  The semifinals will be played on Saturday morning while the championship is set for Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
