Bridgewater Defeats Roanoke, 5-0, in Quaterfinals

BRIDGEWATER, Va. --- The rain held off just long enough for the Bridgewater Eagles men's tennis team to make quick work of the visiting Roanoke Maroons by a 5-0 score on Saturday afternoon in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Quarterfinal matchup between the two teams at the BC Tennis Courts.

In doubles play, the duo of Evan Stack and Brandon Larsen cruised to an 8-1 victory to get the Eagles rolling. Freshman Christian Lynn and junior Peter Hawkins teamed up to post an 8-3 victory at number two doubles in the closest match of the day.

At number three, the tandem of freshman Mike Cable and senior Brent Floyd rolled to an easy 8- 2 victory to give the Eagles a commanding 3-0 lead heading to singles.

Floyd made quick work of things at number four, blanking opponent Chris Migliarese by a 6-0, 6-0 tally. Larsen finished up the match with an easy 6-0, 6-0 win at number two over Lewis Young to hand the Eagles the win.

The matchups at one, three, five and six singles all went unfinished.

Bridgewater advances to next Saturday's semifinal matchup, set to be played on the campus of Randolph-Macon. The Eagles will tangle with the third-seeded Guilford.
