BRIDGEWATER, Va. --- It's a different kind of double-double for the University of Lynchburg as the Hornets completed a full sweep of the ODAC indoor and outdoor track & field events with their men's and women's team titles at the ODAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Monday. Lynchburg has now won ODAC bests of 31 men's and 13 women's outdoor crowns.
On the men's ledger, Lynchburg collected 175 points powered by four individual event victories and a gold medal in the 4x400-meter relay. Washington and Lee University finished second with 150 points featuring a pair of event wins. Host Bridgewater College claimed third place with 127 tallies thanks in part to a pair of first place finishes.
In the women's ranks, Lynchburg ran away with the team crown with 251 points compared to 153 for runner-up Washington and Lee. Lynchburg athletes won 10 events in addition to both relays. Generals' athletes claimed two events. Third place Roanoke College saw one athlete stand atop a podium on the way to 112.5 points.

Bridgewater College and its Jopson Athletic Complex played host to league schools over the two days. All involved dealt with less than ideal weather conditions throughout the two-day affair. Still, that didn't keep conference athletes from resetting a half-dozen championship records.
Eagles athletes were responsible for three of those new standards. Adalia Coleman, who carries the moniker of "fastest woman in Division III" two times over after winning the past two 60-meter dash titles indoors, reset her own ODAC championship record in the 100-meter dash. She won the event at 11.77 seconds, snapping her previous mark of 11.83-seconds. Fellow sprinter Kyle Clanton broke a nearly decade old entry in the men's 100-meter dash. He posted the best prelim time at 10.57 seconds, eclipsing the 10.62-second mark set by former Virginia Wesleyan standout Randy Lott in 2014. Blanton finished second in the 100-dash finals.
Bridgewater thrower Peter Fulton continued his historic season with two event titles. Earlier this spring, he established a new overall record in the hammer throw (60.34 meters). He is now the championship record-holder as well after winning the event at 57.85 meters. He added a gold medal in the discus (47.57 meters) to his weekend showing.
Lynchburg's Kelsey Lagunas owns a new record. Lagunas won the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase at 11:00.05, breaking her own benchmark of 11:03.36 from last season.
Roanoke's Brady Fowler won two events -- the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. His 200-dash time of 21.32 seconds shaved 0.10 seconds off the record time set by Eastern Mennonite University's Alijah Johnson last year.
Washington and Lee's Carolyn Todd established the remaining new record. She won the 10,000-meter run on Sunday night at 37:14.82. The previous record-holder was former General Casey Mackintosh at 37:58.75 in 2013.
