ODAC Softball Ready for Moyer

Guilford Enters as Top Seed Following Tie-Breakers

SALEM, Va. --- Guilford College emerged from a three-way tie at the top of the ODAC softball standings as the top seed heading into the 2010 ODAC Softball Tournament.  The Quakers (28-11-1 overall, 13-5 ODAC) posted the best head-to-head mark against tied foes Roanoke College (30-7, 13-5) and Virginia Wesleyan College (30-7, 13-5), earning them the #1 slot through conference tie-breakers.

Roanoke occupies the second seed with the Marlins and their current 16-game winning streak holding the third seed.  Lynchburg College (22-14, 12-6) and Bridgewater College (31-8, 12-6) also needed tie-breakers to decide their placing.  The Hornets will play out of the fourth position, making the Eagles the fifth seed.

Randolph-Macon College (15-11, 11-7) enters as the sixth seed.  Randolph College (20-20, 7-11) and Eastern Mennonite University (15-16, 6-12) round out the eight-team field, sequentially.

The double-elimination tournament begins on Friday, April 23 and continues through Sunday, March 25.  All games will be played at the James I. Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, Va.
