FOREST, Va. --- The weather forecast for the start of the ODAC Softball Tournament in Salem has prompted a change to the game schedule for the weekend. Local and regional weather services are tracking rain in Salem beginning Thursday evening and continuing thru the afternoon hours on Friday. The rain is expected to let up to allow games to be played that evening.

The format for the tournament will alter with each day affected and a possible extension into Monday for the "if necessary" contest in the tournament's double-elimination format.

Four of the eight games originally scheduled for Friday will maintain on that day, with other four pushed back to Saturday. Weather on Saturday and Sunday should allow for three sets of two-field rounds on Saturday, plus two additional one-field matchups. Sunday will feature an additional game normally played on Saturday. The first championship game will be the second outing to feature on Sunday. Should the "if necessary" championship game be needed, that will push to Monday morning.
