LC Upsets RC, 10-5, in ODAC Quarters Behind 13 Saves by Hailey Bossert

SALEM, Va. --- Senior goalie Hailey Bossert made 13 saves Saturday afternoon as the fifth-seeded Lynchburg College women's lacrosse team upset #4 Roanoke College 10-5 in the quarterfinals of the 2015 Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Tournament.

Each team netted three goals in the first half in the wet and rainy conditions, two Hornet tallies were by senior attack Katie Seidel.

The Hornets took control of the game after intermission, using a 6-1 run to forge a 9-4 lead. Three of the scores in the stretch were by junior midfielder Katherine Francis.

Francis finished the afternoon with four goals and a game-high six draw controls. Seidel finished with three scores and Caroline Carozza had two assists.Alexa Carey, Dorrie MacGregor and Lindsay Parker also found the back of the net for Lynchburg.

Grace Finnerty scooped four ground balls and had two draw controls, while MacGregor and Parker had four and three ground balls, respectively.

Claire Feeney scored four goals for Roanoke (7-5).  

The Hornets (9-7) advance to the semifinals of the conference tournament at top-seeded Washington & Lee University Wednesday at a time to be determined.
