Six-Team Field Set for ODAC Women's Lacrosse Tournament

W&L, R-MC Top Two Seeds for Fifth Straight Season

FOREST, Va. --- The top two seeds in the 2019 ODAC Women's Lacrosse remain the same as the previous four season as Washington and Lee University and Randolph-Macon College stand atop the league table following completion of regular season play on Saturday. Both clubs earn byes thru the quarterfinal round.

The Generals, ranked #1 in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) top-25 poll, will serve as hosts for the semifinals and championship in the ODAC's final four-plus format. Second-seeded R-MC advances to Lexington and into the semifinals.

Unlike last season where there were zero ties affecting the tournament field, a three-way stalemate for the next three seeds extended to the fourth step of the ODAC's tiebreaking procedure for women's lacrosse. Goal differential in games amongst the tied teams sifted thru the deadlock. Roanoke College will enter as the third seed with a plus-two run differential. The University of Lynchburg was even in its matchups with Roanoke and Shenandoah University, awarding Lynchburg the fourth seed and Shenandoah the fifth position.

Roanoke and Lynchburg will host quarterfinal matchups on Wednesday. Shenandoah will make the trip to Lynchburg, while sixth-seeded Virginia Wesleyan will make the trip across the Commonwealth to Roanoke. Tournament competition will continue on Saturday and Sunday, May 4-5 at Washington and Lee.
