Randolph-Macon Owns Top Seed in League Tournament

FOREST, Va. --- Randolph-Macon College went undefeated in conference play for the first time in program history, posting a perfect 11-0 mark to earn the top seed in the upcoming ODAC Volleyball Tournament.  The Yellow Jackets have won each of the past three conference crowns.  Washington and Lee University, having won a league-best 12 volleyball titles, is the second seed in this year's postseason event.

There was a three-way tie for third place in the league standings, which could not be broken until the fourth step on the ODAC's volleyball tiebreaking procedure (set differential amongst tied teams).  Bridgewater College will be the third seed in the tournament, with Lynchburg College playing out of the fourth slot and Virginia Wesleyan College occupying the fifth position.  The Marlins will travel to Lynchburg for their quarterfinal contest on Wednesday evening.

Emory & Henry College staked a claim to the sixth seed and will trek north on I-81 to Bridgewater for its tournament opener.  Roanoke College also heads north as the Maroons will play at W&L as the seventh seed.  Shenandoah University's victory over Guilford College on Saturday secured the Hornets the eighth and final seed in the conference's eight-team postseason field.  SU will match up with Randolph-Macon in the quarterfinals.

ODAC tournament action begins Wednesday, October 31, with four quarterfinal matchups on the campuses of the four highest seeds.  The event continues on Saturday, November 3, with semifinal contests in the morning followed by the conference championship match in the afternoon at the highest remaining seed following the quarterfinals.
