BC’s Redwood, GC’s Roberts Share Top Spot

CAPE CHARLES, Va. --- Washington and Lee University owns a two shot lead over Bridgewater College after the first round of the 2010 ODAC Golf Championship at Bay Creek Resort & Club in Cape Charles, Va.  Bridgewater junior Mike Redwood and Guilford College sophomore Dusty Roberts share the individual lead after firing 74 on the custom par 72 track.

Conditions were windy throughout the round, lending to higher than expected scores.  The Generals’ coped the best as their four scoring players shot 79 or better, making W&L the only team with four players posting sub-80 rounds.  Wilson Anthony recorded a team-best 75, three-over-par.

The best scores came on the back-nine on the 6,978-yard Arnold Palmer Signature Course.  Roberts and Roanoke College’s Adam Skaff both shot 36, the only even-par nine holes of the day.
