ROANOKE ENTERS AS TOP SEED

Tournament Bracket

FOREST, Va. --- Roanoke College enters the 2011 ODAC Men’s Soccer Tournament as the #1 seed via head-to-head tie-breaker results over second-seeded Eastern Mennonite University during the regular season.  The Maroons have not entered postseason play as the top seed since the 2008 campaign. 

Washington and Lee University leapt into the third spot with a victory over Emory & Henry College on Wednesday evening.  The Generals also used a head-to-head tie-breaker with Randolph College to secure its position. The WildCats round out the top four teams that will host quarterfinals on Saturday, October 29. 

Fifth-seeded Randolph-Macon will make the trip to Lynchburg to take on Randolph, while sixth-seeded Lynchburg College will travel over the mountain to face the Generals.  The Hornets earned their spot via tie-breakers over Bridgewater College.  As the seventh seed, the Eagles will take on cross-town rival, EMU.  Virginia Wesleyan rounds out the tournament field as the eighth seed on head-to-head tie-breakers with Hampden-Sydney College.  The Marlins will travel to Salem for their opening round match against the Maroons. 

ODAC tournament action begins Saturday, October 29, with four quarterfinal matchups to be played at the highest four seeds.  The winners will play Tuesday, November 1, at the two highest remaining seeds.  The ODAC Championship will take place on Saturday, November 5, on the campus of the remaining highest seed.
